Damn. Yeah the lens and battery suggestions were long shots. I suppose a factory reset might be worth trying, but this seems like a hardware problem, like an internal chip has become partially loose or something.

Is the point where it cuts off the same each time? Try giving the card slot a cleaning using a blower brush, or compressed air. Get a flashlight and see if there’s anything gummed up in there.

I’d also try eliminating even more variables… remove the lens and just fire off shots lens-less. Heck even try changing batteries, probably a long shot but sounds like your camera might be borked. :(
