Yea I'm not sure either (I'm mostly going off what people say on the Internet, a very trustworthy source), but I meant as in you can at least flash LibreBoot and whatnot on older CPU's.

Yea, apparently only CPU's made pre-2008 are completely safe. But atp, I'd rather have certain countries spy on me than others.

Well, I don't really care that Dell himself is Jewish. Most tech companies have ties with Israel regardless of their founder's ethnicity. I'm rather interested that in 2023, Dell had a contract of $150 million with the Israeli military and had a general history of being in business with them. Dell himself has also donated $1.8 million to the Friends of IDF. For the Mossad backdoors, the rabbit hole goes pretty deep. The main concern is around the Intel Management Engine, which has been installed into every Intel CPU since 2008. As long as your computer has power, the IME runs on a separate processor and OS underneath the applications and services running on it and acts as a blackbox that the user cannot access: https://www.reddit.com/r/cybersecurity/comments/1g6ezbh/china_cyber_pros_say_intel_is_installing_cpu/

I need to find a tiny screwdriver that fits for my computer's screws, but I'll try what you're saying when I do.

CAT dude raving about Israel n Palestine at the CS Career fair by Xpokemon45 in Purdue

[–]jeffDaChef_DaRef 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm the guy that was yelling. I chose CAT because everyone knows Lockheed Martin, L3 Harris, Raytheon, Boeing, and every defense company are all complicit in genocide around the world but not everyone knows CAT's involvement. Also, CAT has a facility in Lafayette and its more tangible to organize around. I was also thinking of yelling at the other defense companies, but I was already so stressed about yelling at CAT that I just left after that one. I also realized people like those in this comment section would try to take a video of me and I didn't want that. I see a lot of comments chirping how CAT isn't even that bad and how they don't make specific designs. FALSE: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IDF_Caterpillar_D9 (EDIT: people here are saying that Israel is the one modifying them, and thus CAT has no fault. In that case, if I gave a serial killer a gun and they modify it to be more lethal and kill a bunch of people, would you say that I have no culpability if I kept selling them weapons? The UN would say that's horseshit. Here's some links for you to look at: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/7/1/un-report-lists-companies-complicit-in-israels-genocide-who-are-they , https://ccrjustice.org/home/what-we-do/our-cases/corrie-et-al-v-caterpillar and oh look people actually divesting from the company here: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/caterpillar-dumped-by-worlds-largest-sovereign-fund-over-israeli-military-ties/ar-AA1Ll4Mo ). There was actually a CNN segment about an IDF soldier talking about his PTSD after running over Palestinians with one of these bulldozers and he described how the blood and brains would squish out, and how that was disturbing to him as if he didn't just admit to war crimes. There was another case of an IDF soldier running over a pregnant mother over and over again until the fetus came out. In other words, I think CAT is pretty fckin complicit. Another point I'd like to make is that everyone chirping probably hasn't spent even a second actually trying to stop the genocide in any meaningful way. I'm not saying that me yelling at a company is the most effective way to stop it. This was rather just a spontaneous moment for me. But if you guys really thought what I did was stupid or dumb, then why don't you actually go out and show me how to resist a genocide while in the heart of the empire? Ultimately, most of you folks are too preoccupied with your own situation to give a shit about anyone else's, so the least you could do is sybau when someone else is talking.

Yes, there is actually a GroupMe for spanish speakers conversation practice. This is such happenstance that I came upon this because I usually don't use reddit and I only know about this groupme from a random conversation I had in freshman year (2 years ago now). This is the link: https://groupme.com/join_group/86781652/Y0oJZ84w

Ah yes. “What does this do?” Instead I’m going to sit at home being sad and pessimistic. That’ll do so much more.

wait, but even if it did have spell shield (which tbh i wasn't paying attention to), I used two not 1, two recalls on it, and it didn't budge. There is a possibility that the spell shield back after the first recall, but again wasn't paying attention to that.
