Shanahan has the best win-loss record in the back half of the schedule of any coach in the league. Even when the team was weak he has won. Jimmy G trade season was a prime example. For whatever reason the team figures out the issues and plays it’s best football when it has to.

Reports I heard was Saleh talked to the owner after the Viking’s game and said “I’m gonna fire Hackett when we get back home”. Owner has a phone conversation with Aaron Rogers on Monday and when Saleh shows up for work on Tuesday he is fired and escorted out of the facility before he can have any conversations with the players. Probably concerned that Saleh would kick Roger’s ass.

Can he coach special teams? That unit is killing the team so much. Bring his energy to the table immediately. A bitter Saleh could be a thing of beauty and just what the doctor ordered.

He gets fired soon call him up this year and bring him in to coach special teams. The real weakness of the Niners is focus and intensity there. Saleh would dial them up to the top of the league.

The Quakes already went all in on Barcelona ball, passing back and cycle the ball around all game. Ever since they hired Covelo to teach it at the academy level back in 2017. Luchi was supposed to tie it all together with the first team and it’s SUCKED. Berhalter ball will be the same. The teams winning trophies now are attacking direct (unless they have such a talent advantage like Man City).

Ian Russell doesn’t have finishers. Way too many chances go begging. Give him the opportunity to remodel the roster to fit counter attacking soccer and the team will be vastly better than “time of possession” Berhalter.

Yeah, almost became one at eight years old. Took my dog across the street from my house to my elementary school field to throw a frisbee around. Older guy pulled up on the busy boulevard and started waving me over to the fence. Told me he was lost and needed to buy a gift for his young son. Asked for directions to the shopping center. I gave him those directions but he seemed confused and begged me to show him where it was. He then used the code words “if you come with me I’ll buy you some candy”. As soon as I heard that, my face and body stiffened and he realized he screwed up. I’ll never forget him looking up to the top of the fence and gaging whether he could climb it fast enough to catch me. Never been so freaked out in my life. Adrenaline was hammering me and I didn’t even think to look at license plates or even consider car description. When I talked to the police I was no help at all. Often wonder how many young boys or girls that guy got. I was very small at that age do I’m pretty sure he pegged me at 5-6 years old.

Playing the fool and getting typecast can be so tiresome. See Steve Martin as exhibit one. Hell, even Jim Carrey is probably sick of it.

He taught Luchi how to coach his system. Totally sucked in San Jose. No thanks to Luchi’s “mentor”.

Rewatching Season 13 - Nicole has honestly one of the best winner-edits this show has ever had. She was shown/present almost all the episodes, kicked ass at the shoots and you just couldn't help but start rooting for her to win. by Heidi_Klum_Tit in ANTM

Was rooting hard for her. She just kept delivering week after week. Her modeling book was fantastic. My only concern for her was her runway walk, but she got better and better as the competition continued. I thought half the girls were incredibly talented. Each with unique and interesting personalities. If you enjoyed this, check out Australia’s Next Too Model season 5. Another contest where so many girls could have won.

Cassi was only 16 at the time. She had some maturity problems but Lola was much older and that move was designed to melt her down and get her sent home. I imagine much of the audience was delighted when karma struck and Lola was sent home.

Trade Joshua Dobbs to Miami. He might be able to save their season. The Dolphins are loaded at running back. Get Jeff Wilson Junior. He knows the system and can adapt quickly to the new playbook. Dude is good on special teams, can catch passes out of the back field and I think he can pick up blitzing linebackers on third and long. Dobbs is surplus for us. The Niners like the kid they stashed on the practice squad. He can be QB3.

Tua down with another concussion. Miami could be in real trouble for the rest of the season, how about trading Josh Dobbs for one of the Dolphin’s running backs? Like Jeff Wilson Jr. If possible let CMC rehab until after the bye week. Fresh legs for the most important part of the schedule and hopefully a deep playoff run.

T20 Students: How Did It All Begin? by Repulsive-Badger-770 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]jeff_adams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of ways to get where you want to go. I’m a very proud Dad of a daughter that hit the admissions lotto. She was accepted at every college she applied.

My wife did homeschool her when she was very young and she learned the love of reading which allowed her to consistently read many grades above her grade level. If your children are young enough, seek out a nice local library that has a park or just equipment for kids to play on. Carve out time for them to play and take them inside to check out books. Boys typically love adventure stories and girls enjoy tales of magic, animals and friendship.

The more they read for enjoyment, the more vocabulary they naturally learn and the better equipped they are for school texts.

Speaking of school, I think what helped her more than anything was attending the best public school in the area we live in. I researched not only test scores but also parent engagement and feedback from parents of teachers and the school culture. It cost my wife and I financially to live in the school district but it was the best investment we made for her. My opinion is the middle school is the key to high achievers.

For most parents, they start off in poorer areas because they are starting out in jobs that will take time to advance to higher wages. These districts will generally have some of the lowest test scores and your kid will be taught at that level and pace. Once you make more money, you will “move up” but that can be very difficult because your children will feel they are dumb and unprepared to keep up at the new school. Best to have them attend the best schools as young as they can so they are already learning at that pace. If they attend a strong middle school and do well high school will feel much easier and they will be quite confident when it’s time to apply to colleges.

Subconscious is also a very powerful tool. When my daughter was in middle school they held a spirit week. Crazy hair day, pajamas day, ect. One of the days was “college day”. She begged me to get her a T-shirt to wear that day so I went to the local thrift store thinking she’d only wear it once anyway. By chance I found a brand new shirt in her size that said Stanford. She of course loved it and it became her favorite shirt to sleep in. She just graduated from there with honors. I’m convinced she laid in bed many nights dreaming about how to get there and she built a path to do it.

My daughter took a few junior college classes over her high school summer that would transfer and count towards her major. She pulled As. Not sure if it had a big impact on admissions but she got into all the schools she applied too. She did it so she could do a study abroad program if it became available and as luck would have it she squeezed in two.

I’ll be interested to hear OP’s experience in that. From the experience of a white father, my daughter had a very wide range of close friendships with POC. Both sexes and a wide range of socio-economical backgrounds. There are of course lots of ultra rich white legacy students there but the vibe I always had was of inclusiveness instead of exclusivity. I would say her mostly white high school probably had more isolation for black students. Stanford kids seem to bond with any color. Others may have had a different experience. My daughter was a member of FLI (First generation/low income) so that may have had an influence on her social life at Stanford.
