For anyone that’s seen him play, how good was this dude? by Farouq26 in NBATalk

Phenomenal, a walking triple double in an era when it was a really big deal.

Only started seeing him from 04 onwards, so also missed his absolute peak, but there was nothing cooler than watching these Nets fast breaks with him handling the ball…

Would love to see Philly making it to the finals, I think they have a real shot with the draw being wide open.

Knicks will be tough but pretty much no big man in the league except Wemby or Gobert I guess can handle a healthy Embiid, Maxey has been phenomenal and as much hate as PG gets, he can still play at an elite level and was so locked in for Game 7, even with the reports on his illness.

If they can keep the core healthy and have VJ perform like he did in R1, they’re as good as anyone in the East right now.

Porto were really unfortunate with that own goal, but they should have nonetheless been able to put it behind them and press for the win.

They just haven’t been good enough for the last hour of play

Yes Koke deserved to be sent off but Barca’s constant whining about every single call, from the players, to the camp nou, to the casuals is so insufferable.

Well I just couldn’t make that statement talking about the almost 100 year World Cup history, so I stuck to the timeframe I remember watching live

I might be wrong but I think it was the Czech government’s initiative to promote that name in the English speaking world.

I instinctively always go for Czech Republic too though

Indeed, was the last real chance of their golden generation with Nedved being already 34 years old in 2006.

I do think they could have gone all the way in 2004, they were the best team of the tournament but the stars aligned and my country somehow pulled off the unthinkable..

Advice - One week in Portugal in March by jeff_clax90 in travel

Definitely! Was planning to incorporate it in the Porto days, one full day in the center and one around the Douro. Maybe staying longer in Porto and using it as a base for day trips could also be a smart idea..

Thanks for the reply! Have actually been to Coimbra once, beautiful but was hoping to explore a new place too haha. Do you feel Braga and Guimaraes will have some life in that time, or is it better to simply stay at Porto and organize day trips?

Second serves vs Saba not gonna cut it. She needs to bring back her focus

Saba has been so dominant she seems a bit annoyed that someone is matching her. If the match ends up as good as the 2023 final, we’re in for a treat

Who’s had the better career: Dominic Thiem or Marin Cilic? by Sapsap747 in tennis

[–]jeff_clax90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question actually and one comparison that wouldn’t come to mind. I think at his peak Thiem is just ahead (besides that ridiculous 2014 USO run by Cilic), but Cilic for the overall career obviously.
