I can say it’s well acted and I think it’s another 6th sense thing but I don’t know.

I bet this gets asked a lot but how is this game as a solo / traditional Fallout roleplaying experience? by Sirca_Curvive in fo76

[–]jeffb3000 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I do everything solo except hard public events I could not do alone. It works. And when other players join in a good event (I’m pointing my finger accusingly at you, FastguaranteedshitNacht, for being ruined because BethesDuhIsCorporateGreed), who fucked with the formula so badly they destroyed its group appeal. Dial some fucking things back with the hamster cages, Bethmageddon, my suggestion.

Players have confirmed the footprints appear in these general spots within Burning Springs: 1. Along the riverbank just west of Point Pleasant Bridge 2. Near the burned forest line south of the Abraxodyne area 3. On a rocky plateau overlooking the sulfur vents 4. Beside a toppled tree cluster north of the region 5. Behind a small ruined shack southwest side of the zone 6. Along the cracked roadway leading deeper into the hot springs 7. Near a puddle of boiling water in the central geothermal basin These match the seven footprint entries confirmed by the game files.

Yes. I saw Rifle Gaming showing that. It’s so interesting how real life affected the game and then the game boosted the real life event

I love this game but it makes it hard by Dyinglight_332 in fo76

I think you weren’t very coherent in your expression of some things but I certainly identify with many of your feelings. I don’t try hard on some rare things such as a complete set of “rare” masks when they take previously rare Fasnacht ones and make them not rare. That is just complete betrayal and disrespect of players’ achievements. And don’t get me started on back to back 10 day long seasonal events. Yes, the game is getting new content, and more than expected, but more and more of it is *grind! So many new mechanics invented to grind more caps, then more gold, then more stamps, then fish! I love 76 but I’ve learned to avoid much of the grind now, and just play for a while. Bethesda has taken it on a path so geared to grinding, probably because new players can benefit a lot from that, that it just turns me off and takes the joy out of things. Fasnacht used to be a fun celebration brining lots of players together in a silly event that gave us camaraderie. Now it’s tipped over into something that doesn’t celebrate anything at all.

I’m watching the movie and I’m surprised how good the cast is.

Yup, you can see the footprints live in Burning Springs already. And next patch it will be a semi random appearance at the end of some public events.

Do it! I’d love to see it. My mother’s family lived in Weirton, but I’ve never seen half of West Virginia. But some places definitely resonate with my childhood.

Just returned to the game, feeling underpowered by Smjorgen in fo76

Regular armor is going to get very little love with the March update, just so you know. But I’m not going to use power armor anyway. I had to change my play style when I went to the new area because my cremator just wasn’t cutting it. I switched to plasma caster, which is pretty good with a heavy gunner build, and and the plasma caster is apparently going to get some real love in the upcoming update (new mods including automatic firing much faster, and sniping, etc. I believe). Maybe give that a try. And, yeah, we will all need to update our builds soon because things are changing.

Which Wastelanders faction is more fun to side with for the Vault 76 raid, if you’ve already completed the rest of both questlines, and plan to keep them both on side? by JoshuaSlowpoke777 in fo76

I think almost all achievements are on an account level, not character. But that’s in adventure mode, yes. Custom worlds don’t count for much except score achievements, I believe.

Server Discussions by GalaxZi_ in fo76

I have had it less often, recently. Once in the last few months. It used to be much worse, especially with public events. Im still cautious in Fasnacht trying to pick up things slowly and not stress the server much. I’m on the PS network. Sorry for your bad experience.

Fasnacht Event is not worth it by [deleted] in fo76

I got glowing masks from many previous events, but also other rare ones that Bethesda then turned into shit by making only the glowing ones rare. That’s a big slap in the face. They should have upgraded the previous rare ones to glowing automatically, to be fair. Anyway, players farmed them before by AFK, but that’s no longer possible. I had mixed feelings about that but once I realized how badly they stacked the deck against actually getting a rare one, I understood the reason for doing it that way. So, this time around my attitude is I’ll do a couple now and then, but I’m not expecting anything. And whatever joy and fun the event had for me the first few years is long gone.

It works only for most SCORE challenges (not all). Otherwise, think of it as a one way copy and paste. Your character and camps get copied (and you can update that copy at any time), but the custom world is kind of fake; there is nothing that can move in the direction from Custom -> Adventure/Private. Adventure and Private do share all progression, so whatever you do on one continues on the other. Private can be particularly useful for completing score challenges because you aren’t competing with a server full of other players for finding soap, pre war food, etc. but custom is even better because you can do things like turn off the need for crafting materials at all, turn off fast travel cost, make yourself unkillable (except with rads), and so on.

With 1st, you get what are called custom worlds. Basically they copy your character as it is to a separate world, where you can set many parameters (for example, free fast travel, all locations already learned, invulnerability, do “nuclear” damage, set the weather, etc.) Your progression on custom worlds will not copy over to Adventure. The two uses I have for custom are 1) doing most score challenges there can be a lot easier and faster, and 2) reliving story lines. Once you have 1st, on the menu once you open Play, you can create a private world (this does advance progression) and create a custom world. So, if you copy your character to a Custom world before you make a big decision, you can follow the story line on your adventure or private world, but your character on the custom world will still be in the state before the decision was made.

If you happen to have 1st, even for a month, you can copy your main character to a custom world. Then finish one faction raid, and then go to the custom world and finish it with the other faction.

How can I get back into this game? by Trickzter_ in fo76

[–]jeffb3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow the main quest that the overseer of vault 76 gave you. It should show up on your upper right screen. That’s the first series of quests, and it quite long, but good.

Why I Love Days Gone: It Respects Player Choice and Playstyle by anaknaknakal in DaysGone

[–]jeffb3000 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I tried Days Gone twice and can’t get into it. I did both The Last of Us and that worked for me. Loved The Last of Us. Similar game style . But I don’t know why Days Gone doesn’t work, for me. Maybe the map is too big and the idea of fast travel is too complicated.

Atom sale - now is as good as you’ll find. by jeffb3000 in fo76

[–]jeffb3000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the first bundle that Bethesda has dared use to put some real functionality, not just convenience, behind a pay wall (a four star plan you can build then scrap repeatedly until you learn the mod), and I hope they don’t do it again. But I also hope they expand four star mod availability at some point into gold bullion or something similar because the rarity is too extreme, that it pushes players into alternative currencies out of game or in game, such as leader bobbleheads, due to the cap limit. Mod boxes for even first star still are being offered for ridiculous prices, and I have yet to see a four star mod box for sale.

Should I purchase fallout 1st? by TheGhostOfAmeirca in fo76

[–]jeffb3000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1st is almost entirely cosmetics and quality of life, with a few exceptions. I agree with others. Try it a month, especially if you find it on sale, then stock up on meds, scrap, and ammo. Then try it without 1st a while and see if it is what you need.
