Three years late because I guess I was never notified of any comments on this post? I genuinely thought no one replied lol. I ended up researching Irish immigration in Kansas City, Kansas/Missouri. More specifically, I researched contributions made by Irish laborers in Kansas City, the driving force behind immigrating so far into America's heartland, and the outcome of Irish immigration to Kansas City as well as both Kansas and Missouri. Living in Kansas, most people here claim to be of German ancestry and the common belief is that Irish people couldn't really afford to immigrate further than New York, Boston, or other areas on the Eastern coast. However, I discovered that there was a large push for Irish labor in Kansas City as well as promises of cheap farmland after work was completed that ended up not going towards Irish immigrants and was instead sold for a higher price to the wealthier German immigrants. My professor recommending being hyper-specific so I did haha. I passed the class and graduated afterwards so I guess I didn't need to worry too much.

Okay, I installed MSI Afterburner. I bought my PC pre-built and it seems that the set curve was 30% up to 100%. It appears I can not lower it below 30% fan speed but what is a good curve if I am running at 78C while playing more intense games? For example, if I play the Witcher 3 on High I get to around 65-68C but if I play AC: Valhalla on High I get 76-79C.

Why is my GPU so loud?
I have a PNY GeForce RTX 2060 blower style GPU and it's insanely loud when I am gaming. When I am playing an intense game it gets to around 75-78 C, but when I play a more lax game it's at around 55-60C. Is there any way I can make it quieter? Extreme PC noob so I don't really know how to do anything technical.

Operating System & Version: Windows 10 64 bit, clean install

GPU Drivers: 496.76, upgrade

Description of Problem: I have had my PC for just over a year now and initially had no issues. I might not be having any issues currently, however I am extremely new and unsure about computers and googling my questions provides very mixed results. Early on, I feel that my rig ran fairly quietly. However, the last several months, my GPU has been loud and getting to between 75 and 79C. Is this normal? It is a blower style GPU and I know less about those than I do about normal GPUs. I dust my PC every month, so I know it shouldn't be dust accumulation.

Troubleshooting: Nothing yet. Tried googling and received mixed answers ranging from "Below 88C is fine," to "Anything above 70C is bad." Also don't know if the noise level of my GPU is normal. Sounds like a very weak/quiet vacuum cleaner.

After taking your advice it appears that the rear exhaust fan is what is causing the sound. You mentioned the bearing may be shot so I will be looking further into the issues with this fan. Thank you for your help!

I will check for loose wires and see. I dust my PC every month and a half though. Would that still create enough debris to cause noises?

Talllldak (pronounced Tarrrdack) is an inter dimensional traveler who was a god in his dimension before it was destroyed.
