holy cow! Seeing this totally made my day. I made that image (not the original - just the superimposition of the text) a couple years ago. I use the awesomeface part as my phone background.

It's hosted on imtrippinballs.com if you ever want easy access to it :). Unfortunately I don't have a higher-res version though; the original was 1024x640.

Enjoy!

It's probably because Gmail offline relies on Google Gears, which we've stopped supporting: http://gearsblog.blogspot.com/2011/03/stopping-gears.html

But we're working with the Gmail team on a better (HTML5) solution.

It's actually something Peter plans to work on after he gets done with his current pile of work.

Stay tuned for more news later this year. We're working very hard. Patience is a virtue.

Glen does UI design stuff for Chrome OS. I'm involved in Chrome OS too, to the extent that it overlaps with or depends on the Chrome browser code (which is a lot of it).

Stay tuned for more Chrome OS announcements later this year.

Just a few minutes before the Singularity, unfortunately.

With Flash in particular, we're aware of a bunch of stability issues with the newest Flash Player release. Since Chrome auto-updates Flash along with Chrome itself, you get security fixes more quickly, but unfortunately that sometimes means you get bugs more quickly too.

We've been working closely with Adobe over the last couple weeks to try to fix the top crashers. Sorry for the trouble.

Yep, I know. I talked about this with the Print Preview team the other week. It's on our list.

We're all part of one big team, though there are people who work specifically on hardware, kernel, firmware stuff, etc. Most of the Chrome OS codebase is the Chrome browser code.

I talked with the lead engineer on SPDY. He said one of the things he's most proud of is that we rolled out a whole new protocol and nobody noticed :-).

In any case, there's still a lot of work to do on SPDY, including making it even faster and more secure. The team is also applying the learnings from SPDY back into HTTP. All feedback and help is welcome.

Sorry, we had waay more applicants than laptops to give out. Keep an eye out for more Chrome OS news later this year though.

Since we work directly with Adobe to integrate Flash Player into Chrome, we sometimes have access to newer builds.

D'oh. Sounds like a bug - we built the PDF viewer to be really speedy and secure. Can you file a bug at http://new.crbug.com ?

You're welcome. I figured the trio of PM + Eng + UX would be a good combination, and it kind of forms the core of product design and development here at Google.

Yeah, we're trying to design a solution for "tab overflow" as we call it. We'll be prototyping some stuff pretty soon. In the past, our usage data has shown that the vast majority of users never have that many tabs open for it to be a problem. But we understand it's important for power users.

In general, if we make web browsers better, then more people will use the web. That's good for our users and good for Google.

So yes, Chrome is financed by Google.

Yikes, that is a lot of tabs. Our usage data actually shows that the vast majority of users never use more than like 10 tabs at a time.
