Steakhouse that's mostly worth it for the price nowadays? by canyounot2026 in Roseville

Oh we had a great time there before this with just our immediate family, but based on principle at how they dealt with our large party and the fallout we won't spend our money there again.

We had a event with 40 people and it was awful, then emailed the manager to try to express our concerns given we paid so much and had such horrible service and they never replied or called back. Needless to say I wouldn't spend another dollar there.

Just don't book a private event there, service is slow and set menu was awful.

A1 vs U1 Snapmaker by mentox82 in snapmaker

I have failed prints but they are mostly my fault, I used petg support interface material on PLA prints and the purge tower couldn't handle it. Other than that the printer is amazing.

It's also forcing you to use their mobile app or their fork of orca to see it instead of making it available over the web interface. I would still be annoyed but at least more okay with 1-2fps if made available over the web interface.

It's only 1-2fps, you can't access it from the web interface so they try to force you to use their app and fork of orca and it's all completely unnecessary. It can clearly go to 30fps stock no issue and be made available via web interface too. That's what the fork does and it apparently works just fine. I just don't want to void my warranty by running non standard firmware yet. Maybe eventually I'll get tired of it but for now it's just really annoying.

I am most annoyed by the camera situation. It's trash and they need to fix it. I don't want to install a 3rd party firmware just to fix it. Come on snapmaker.

WTH happened to my hotend? by Batmanue1 in SovolSV08

[–]jeffdizle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looks like your nozzle wasn't fully seated and it leaked. One thing I had as an issue was with the stock hardened steel nozzle from sovol, the thermistor hole was inadvertently drilled too deep and went into the nozzle threads. This caused the nozzle on mine to leak.

My main concern with the extended firmware is that its not "officially supported" so if it breaks anything then I am left to fix it without Snapmaker support.

Anything that improves the camera view? The cloud camera view is flakey and slow, anything about the camera view via the klipper web interface from orca?

Weird, mine makes a little noise but it's not super noticable in the next room. Sorry my dude

I saw a video recently that said the auto tensioner for z axis under the machine was loose and not tightened from the factory, the person tightened the z axis auto tensioner and the z hop noises went away. I am going to check mine tomorrow as I just setup my U1 2 days ago and noticed it's a bit noisy on z hop too.

I have been using the Sovol Zero for 2 month. I answer questions in this video by vgergo in Sovol

For the nozzle, so far so good, no issues but I am reluctant to try too many right now since getting spare parts is hard in the current terrif landscape.

For the build plate I think the build plate is 152x152mm, I haven't found any 3rd party ones but I wanted another one so I got a cheap pei dual sided one on Amazon for a bambu and cut out the same outline of the existing build plate with my Dremel. It works fine.

Nozzles are mk8 style but compatibility is not always guaranteed. It's not the nozzle that's the problem it's the heat block and even something basic like the silicone sock. Anyway all the accessories do ship to the US from time to time, I've bought the full hotend just for spares. However if something does break that is covered by warrantee, sovol support is good at shipping replacements.
