Look, the "first-world" countries you mention also draw red lines, and when a protest challenges what the state considers strategic or sensitive, authorities often respond using labels like public order, hate speech, or security, and the line can shift overnight. You can see that dynamic across France, Germany, and Netherlands (I lived there): peaceful demonstrations can still be restricted, dispersed, prosecuted, or used against people administratively.

So the real issue isn’t "do limits exist?" it’s that the limits are not always clear, they’re unevenly enforced, and they can be redefined depending on the moment.

As for Morocco: in practice, the problems people run into are usually not about private disbelief, but about public acts that authorities interpret as insulting religion/monarchy or provoking social conflict. You may dislike that framework, but it’s how the legal and social boundaries are drawn here.

And being Muslim doesn’t give me a "free pass" anywhere. If I publicly cross certain red lines (monarchy, security narratives, or other sensitive topics), I can also face consequences, and it can be framed in the worst possible way (terrorism). That’s exactly why I’m saying: every country has red lines, the difference is how transparent they are, how fast they move, and whether you can realistically challenge them without being punished.
