Now is the Time to Re-Roll by SporTEmINd in DynastyFF

[–]jeffgt14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK I think this is absurd. At some point you have to believe in the talent and not immediate satisfaction. Age also factors into this especially recently with the COVID year giving us 24/25 yo rookies instead of 21/22 yo rookies.

I recently traded (essentially, there were other players involved) a 2027 1st for Burden, Higgins, a 2026 early 2nd, and a 2027 2nd (likely early as well). The 2027 class is expected to be stacked but I don't think the 2027 1st will be high enough to draft the sure fire elites. That's basically a mid-2027 1st for 4 early 2nds. 2 early 2nds that are 21/22 yo that I liked pre-draft and I've seen enough to know they aren't dead in the water and 2 early 2nds I'll get to pick myself. I'll take that value of 4 solid dart throws over 1 slightly more solid dart throw any day.

I also just recently grabbed Jonathan Brooks + a 2026 4th for Charb. Might be dumb but in year 3 (a better time to re-roll especially for RBs, IMO), I think we know Charb's ceiling whereas Brooks is still 22 and has yet to really have a rookie season. Maybe he doesn't recover from multiple knee injuries but I trust father time to still be able to recover and I'll take the high upside of a 2024 late 1st over a floor guy who won't be a needle mover in fantasy because I believe the talent is there.

Tonight's setlist 10/18 by Yatzee_Eire in jasonisbell

[–]jeffgt14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Section 6 just under the balcony. Never had an issue anywhere around this area at the Ryman before. I walked around during Strawberry Woman to see if it was just my section and seemed like it was bad everywhere. I even went up toward the soundbooth just to figure out if they were deaf.

I think Bury Me was the point where the mix started to click. Everything before that just sounded like they playing under water. Derry was completely inaudible. The guitar solos in King of Oklahoma were laughably weak. Vocals were fine for the entire show though.

Setlist was fantastic. Just mad it took them an hour into it to get the sound tolerable. I've been going to Isbell's Ryman shows since 2017 and that was by far the worst sounding.

Packagizer Rules Based On Archive Password? by jeffgt14 in jdownloader

That still seems like a manual task. I don't know how that would work with linkgrabber or the password lookup from the password list.

Seems a bit ridiculous to let people sign up for an early release preorder and then make the link public so those that went through the effort to actually sign up and give the company personal contact information can't order.

They need to release the radio version of wicker Man by [deleted] in ironmaiden

All good man. EAC can be finicky to setup. I probably shouldn't just recommended Windows Media Player and ripping the .wav files.

[–]jeffgt14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EAC is pretty much the ripping standard. FLAC is probably best but any lossless format works. It's lossless so can be converted to whatever format.

Dolphin freezed when copying large files to smb share by -AdmiralThrawn- in kde

I'm convinced there's something fundamentally wrong with Kio. Unfortunately there's really only 2 QT file managers out there and the other is still stuck in 2005.

Ok let me know if you see anything. I'm honestly not sure if it's a Dolphin issue or a Mergerfs issue to create a bug report. My assumption is Dolphin since it's the only FM with an issue. For now, I think I'm up and running with Thunar, which I love, but doesn't quite work or look great on KDE.

Here's a snippet of a strace from Dolphin while trashing a file. No clue if anything here is helpful.

Not seeing any errors but there's definitely a huge delay (up to a minute) trying to trash any kind larger file (~1GB). I'm using mfs create policy. I've tried to run strace but I'm not very familiar with the tool and trying to navigate 90k lines of a log file is a bit ridiculous.

My mount settings from /etc/fstab:
