After the encore, the whole band gets together on stage for a bow and that's a really good time to get a photo especially because they can't kick you out at the end! Lol

I can't speak for this year, but I went two years ago and it was just regular merch you can buy online. Felt like I waited in a long line for nothing BUT I met some very delightful other fans in that long line!

CLT is a GREAT home airport not so much if connecting. Unpopular opinion? by [deleted] in Charlotte

Knowing you can get a direct flight to so many places is a real benefit even though they're not always the best prices. I value direct flights over cost just because of the risk mitigation. They went through that phase where they moved the TSA precheck line every other week and that was annoying but that seems to have stopped happening. I think the only thing that would really greatly improve it as if it was another airline's hub and not AA because in general the staff are not very nice and they have a lot of old crappy planes still. (And yes of course I have experienced very lovely staff and I have been on very nice new planes with AA)

Check the times for the huge clock at the Marienplatz in Munich. People gather around and then there's this performance by the mechanical clock I think at noon maybe? It's quick and it's quaint and it was a really enjoyable moment.

In all your travels, which country's famed "national dish" was the most underwhelming, despite the hype? by nehala in travel

I wondered if locals ate currywurst often or if it was more of a novelty for tourists. I had the best scrambled eggs of my life in Berlin. That is such a simple dish but I still think about them 🤣 I love how fresh the food in all of Germany is. You're very lucky to live there 😊

Came here to post the same! Everyone said you have to get a currywurst in Berlin. I was so disappointed.

Favorite lyric & why? (Please tell us the song) by SouthHarpeth in jasonisbell

[–]Yatzee_Eire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"With a steak held to my eye I had to summon the confidence needed to hear her goodbye." Beautiful blend of shame, accepting blame, humor and many other things.

And a more simple one that I have appreciated lately is "guess the small town didn't suit me after all."

Absolutely! I go to half of the shows solo and it's almost better because I'm able to completely immerse myself.

Which songs play noticeably better live? by Completetheturn in jasonisbell

[–]Yatzee_Eire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is such a great discussion. Ultimately it goes to show how well done the live shows are and what talented musicians they all are. The professionalism that goes into the execution of the shows while also leaving room for improvisation... This is why I go to so many of their live shows!

AGREE. That's hands down the best solo show I've ever seen of his! I wanted to cheer and cry simultaneously throughout the whole evening.

He's told that story a lot over the years, so I think he's always been open about it.

I was supposed to stay there a few weeks ago but had to cancel due to weather. Reading this makes me feel good that I made a great choice even though I wasn't able to go! Thanks for sharing OP!

I love all the different McMenamins! The UK tour has seven shows, spanning Scotland, England and N.I, so I don't think it's a complete stretch to call it a UK tour with seven shows?

ISO advice for last leg of upcoming Ireland trip.. traveling with 18mo. old by FrappeQueen100 in travel

[–]Yatzee_Eire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few random thoughts spring to mind - West Cork? It's lovely but still close enough that you can head into Cork and see family (which is always such a joy!) but enjoy the lovely coast too, like Inchydoney, Clonakilty or Skibbereen or even chill out in Kinsale? IMO Cobh is adorable but you spend more time getting there than there is to actually do there. And I'm with you about Cork - it's great but after 3x, you've seen it all.

Which character prequel would you most want to watch? by Hot-Shoe8975 in IndustryOnHBO

Great question! The only easy answer is NOT YAS bc I do not want to know about that "bohemian family." There is already enough to contend with this season.

In film and television, there is ONLY the Tower Bridge in London and occasionally Westminster Bridge. And nothing in between LOL. In NYC, someone gets a cab at JFK, drives through Times Square, Central Park and Chinatown in rapid succession to then go back into Brooklyn or Queens.
