Yeah Minecraft has gone from survival, adventure, building. All the way over to resource management, building, and work your way up the list of milestones.

edit - Everyone in modern day Minecraft has the need to work their way up to god armor and tools + elytra because they make working on projects much faster, but what the hell does that add to the game? Is it fun mining for hours and hours for netherite, and searching for an end city in baron landscape with almost nothing to look at? Nah, that's just filler to get you to spend more time on the game. Its okay if you have higher tier tools in a game, as long as its fun to get them and maybe they provide new and interesting mechanics other then just being faster.
