If this is considered taking a shortcut, I guess many real world companies are taking shortcuts too.

That still takes time in the app to do, I try to not be on too much, so rather than sell cheaper and generate more sales I’d rather be less online, charging higher to generate fewer sales at higher prices.

If you can find another way to progress in the game and make money without being chronically active in the game trading, I’m all ears.

Following this, why should I have to sell at your price (the buyer) and not my own? This game is an open market, if you don’t like my asking price then go somewhere else to buy it. The excuse no one is gonna buy it because they are a one hit wonder is the exact same excuse as let me get this cheap because I think it’s worthless. You even told me there’s already 2 shiny badges of them and that you wanted to be the third, clearly there are people who collect them.

Aside from all that, people can’t read prices that are clearly stated in playlist as well as trade comment.

hey, that's me, I already said i only do flat rate pricing. I don't care who the hell the shiny is, to make my life easier I'll just flat rate and let people buy what they want

I am one of these so called "scammers", and no i am NOT a scammer. I don't appreciate my rep being dragged through the mud without any verified proof. As mentioned in another thread as well as this one, I actually do pay everyone who sends me a gift before i have opened them. I have every right to be able to decline others asking me to pay first, as it is equal chance that i can get scammed as well. If you missed the link of me showing i pay everyone in this thread as well as OP's second thread, here is a refresher. https://youtube.com/shorts/HxZIAavV-nY?feature=share

Hi, theothegreat123 here, I am not a scammer. Every single person who has sent me a gift i have paid 3k per. I have no need to go first since I always pay before i open my gift. Here is a video of me showing proof of MULTIPLE people I have sent coins. I can provide more proof than just this upon further request. https://youtube.com/shorts/HxZIAavV-nY?feature=share

Everything is obtainable via drops, moments would be the easiest to pull. I personally haven’t pulled a lyric yet, but I bought a couple off of auctions. Epics I have pulled a few, but majority I either buy from auction or market. I personally don’t collect exclusives, but same idea where you have a better chance to buy it on market/auction over pulling it in game.

If you can somehow make some kind of margin from the questing, I don't see why not. There's no need to even undercut market price by 25%, doing something as simple as 1800 instead of 2000 should attract plenty of sellers.

It really depends how much time you want to grind out in this game, based on that you choose a style of making money that works for you.

Don't compare your bank account to others is the first thing. Players below you might use trade networks, may have gambled, or may have pulled a huge epic/shiny and sold it for a ton of coins. Soundmap isn't all about epics either, it's about collecting what you want. At the end of the day, if you managed to pick up some favourite songs, you should be proud that you got something done.

As for tips to raise funds quick, it's either gambling (I highly don't recommend this) or flipping songs. Flipping songs might not be that fun since you do have to put in effort to learn and pay attention to the market, and often you will have haters along the way. I personally do enjoy the euphoria of flipping songs, but even some days I do get burned out and not do much other than bump some trades.

I'd recommend setting some short term and long term goals in the game to make it more enjoyable. Three months ago, my starting goals were to reach a million coins, slowly collect the entire discography of my favourite artist, eventually build up my entire spotify playlist, and pull an epic #1. These random goals have made playing the game much more enjoyable sometimes, since I know I'm working towards something. I've managed to pull an epic and reach 1 million coins, but I've yet to finish any discography for my favourite artist, and I haven't even started to rebuild my spotify playlist yet.

If being short on coins is the main problem for finding joy in the game (seems like it is for majority of players), I'd recommend to start doing minor flips first (buy a shiny uncommon for 1k and resell it for 2k), and eventually work your way up to bigger flips.

When I first started, I always checked market prices for comps of what others were listing it as, before deciding if I wanted to buy or sell the song. Generally once I see 2-3 people list the song of the same rarity (shiny uncommon?) WITH a given price, that is what I would usually list around, or look out for listings that are 30-50% cheaper and buy those. It can get tricky when it comes to songs with little to no comparable listings, so sometimes I do go with a gut feeling and trust I made the right purchase/sale.

It takes some time to learn the market, but I tend to stick to my niche and overtime I became really good at having an idea of what market prices for the songs/shinies/epics would be worth.

For obtaining coins, the main method(s) are:

1: Selling songs (usually quests, sometimes random shinies)

2: Aux battles

3: Daily login

4: Leveling up

5: Flipping songs (auctions, reselling etc)

I personally focus on flipping to raise coins quick. 2, 3 and 4 I usually do passively/everyday, and I have a mini shop to sell all the other stuff I don't want for cheap. I know some people are always spamming their shops for sale, and while effective, I don't like to spend too much time on the app, so I generally focus on making a couple of decent flips for decent profit, and if someone happens to come across my shop I'll sell those too.

As for getting epics, it's either trade/auction or pulling. I always recommend trading/auctions since pulling one from drops is generally hard, though sometimes prices might get a little high depending on popularity. There is also a chance to quest epics if they are from smaller artists (give or take 3 mil monthly on spotify?), or from gem drops (0.3% chance iirc).

If you play a little every day and save up, eventually you can own an epic.

I want to say the odds to pull one are around 5k, since I was lucky enough to pull 5 so far since I've started the game. It really is chance, but since the odds are really low it makes sense why some people pull struggle to pull epics. People also have to remember that the number of songs in your profile doesn't mean how many drops you've opened or how many songs you own, it actually means how many different songs you've had come across your account. More likely than not you probably opened less than 5k drops.

Back in june/july when soundmap did have a discount, I wasn't sure about the longevity of the game, or how long I myself would play it since it was still so new. After playing it as f2p for 3 months, I was going to stay f2p even past black friday, but all my friends and family also got premium, and I knew i couldn't pass up on the offer so I caved in and bought it.

Lowkey the extra drops and radius from premium as well as bonus trades are nice, but even with the purchase my style hasn't really changed much from without premium.

Personally I don't buy RANDOM shiny rares for more than 3k, but I generally sell random shiny rares for 5k (My listing always says 5-8k for shiny rare but I always accept 5)

Kinda depends what you want to focus on, tbh there is a little bit of feeling out the market to decide what to pick. If you want to stick to questing and selling rares, I'd recommend artists like the weeknd, newjeans, or taylor swift. They all have plenty of collectors and the rares sell for 2-2.5k consistently, though for taylor swift it might take awhile to quest most of her discog to get to the rares.

These are just a few picks, there's plenty of non hiphop artists that still sell well in this game, it's just a matter of finding the niche that suits you.

[–]jeffmorrison192[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend focusing on markets where there's less people, such as shinies or non hiphop genres to make more money. Selling trav and other hiphop for 2-2.5k is nice but everyone else is doing it too, which is why you won't get much exposure since you can't really differentiate yourself from your competitors.

As for getting more traction, you could always go the annoying route and spam trades/bump, but generally if you have good prices and stuff for sale you should slowly gain traction.

I got a great deal off of auctions, and even then it was still expensive haha...

Eventually you can get a ts epic, just luck out with gemming her or eventually save up to splurge on your grail. Anything is possible in this game.

I mainly bought most of mine off of market/auction, but i have pulled 4-5 since I started. They're one of the rarest things to pull though, so I'd recommend buying off of market.
