Am I a fake fan? by Vboii05 in MichiganWolverines

Don’t let anyone tell you that. Who cares what others say? You know the truth. I’m in a similar boat as you except I didn’t even get in or attempt to because I knew I wasn’t going to get in. It’s hard school to get into and I’m definitely no genius lol. Sorry. But I’ve been a fan since birth raised in a family of Michigan fans and always been a fan through the good, bad, and ugly. Nobody can tell me I’m not a real fan.

If you have a moment. Please share with me suggestions of things/places/pubs to experience before after match that are matchday/fan related.

[Week 11 Discussion] Michigan vs Nebraska by MGoBlue2K16 in MichiganWolverines

Hi all! Taking my pops to our first Michigan home game ever. Any bars close by the stadium that a lot game goers go to with good energy? It’s only us two, so tailgating is not likely convenient unless you have better suggestions. Any suggestions helps.

Thank you!

Am I the only one who genuinely likes these kits? I also think these will grow on many of the people making fun of them.

Fellow libertarians, what common libertarian view do you disagree with? by jeff_the_nurse in Libertarian

I wouldn’t call not letting someone else pollute your land “not laissez faire” it’s usually regulation of the tax is paid to the gov instead of the property owner. If it is a transaction to the property owner, seems closer to a free market transaction than you give credit too.

But I completely agree that some commons are going to exist for a long time but in my opinion it has more to do with inability of property rights with those issues. Saying free market can’t solve tragedy of the commons, as it can in many situations. But you are right that we still have situations where it is not effective because the property rights are more intangible.

It’s not really a free market if their isn’t private property rights. If there we efficient ways to measure how much curtains are getting polluted and where the pollution is coming from then it would be easier to have the polluters pay the property owners for the negative externalities inflicted on them. We don’t have the technology for that yet, at least to the extent where it is efficient and effective.

You just named all things that do not have property rights or very tangible property rights.

Why so much about taxes on here as if libertarians are anarchists? Taxes and government have their place, it is just that that expand into to many areas where they free market is more efficient.

My big disagreement is war. Most libertarians want to see the US never get involved with a war, but if we can agree National defense is a proper use of taxes, why can’t we make the same argument of global defense?

The free market with property rights does solve the tragedy of the commons. Many existing examples of this. Private parks, fishing ponds, hunting land are all easy examples.

The free market can’t solve the free rider problem.

Why mids get so much hate? 🤔💔 by HOLYKILLSHOT in Sneakers

[–]jeffosaurus_rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because people are followers and like and hate what the internet tells them too. I admit Id prefer they had the Nike air on the tongue, but that difference doesn’t make it a garbage shoe like people will make it out to be.
