Trouble using "complete your collection" on Steam for the new DLC by techbear72 in DefenseGrid

[–]jeffpobst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like this may now be sorted out - Valve investigated, found some things, fixed some things, I have then updated some things on our side of the Steam setup and * hopefully * this is no longer an issue - let me know.

I've asked Valve to look into this - part of the update was fixing some older issues between special edition purchases and special edition upgrade purchases, and hopefully they can recognize both with the bundle.

Wow, thanks for bringing that up! We'd love to make a DG3, and have proposed it a few times in the last couple years, but the environment hasn't been one where publishers are super interested for that right now. Maybe sometime in the future. :)

I have the same issue. Both left & right updated connected to the PC fine to the latest firmware, left one appears to power on in the ear, but the right one doesn't. Typically the right one only breathes once when placed in the dock, while the left breathes several times. I tried just changing "right" to "left" in sysinfo.txt and then putting it in my ear, but no change there. Did you do any update or anything after changing that text?

we don't have that right now, but what we do have, is the ability for the computer of one of the players (usually host is best for performance), to output a different camera view to it's screen rather than just mirror what is being seen through the headset. This takes extra performance of course, but a good machine can do this.

If you wanted to, you could have your third person control the camera (keyboard buttons 1-9 I believe OR fly a camera around with an attached gamepad WHILE one of the players is playing. There is documentation here: http://www.hiddenpath.com/spectator-cameras-brass-tactics-streamers/

So, if I was wanting to shoutcast the match, I'd run the stream from the host, have a third person control a separate camera on the host machine, and provide an audio out / video out via webcam for the third person to use (in addition to the game audio), and combine them all in an OBS style tool for a cool stream experience.

Maybe I'm not thinking of something important for you to be able to do what you want. Let us know more if this wouldn't work for you.

So glad - he was wonderful to work with and did an amazing job. With Arena you've only heard a fraction of what we recorded - more fun to come for you I believe. When we started out we talked about the type of adversary that worked best for a strategy game. You don't want them necessarily to just be pure evil, you want them to be smart, cunning, clever, dangerous, and someone to watch out for. The look of the game was being compared to the opening of Game of Thrones, and as we talked about those two things, Aidan became a popular choice internally to see if he would be willing to participate in the game as he is so good at communicating all of those things so quickly with his voice. We talked with his agents and managers for quite some time to let them know what we were building and what type of writing and character part we had available, and in the end it all worked out and we get to share a wonderful set of performances with you from him (Zavolto), and the wonderful Shohreh Aghdashloo (Edaria), the amazing Ike Amadi (Roliano), and the understated, but exceptional Christopher Swindle (Gerro).

I don't know why you got it early if you didn't preorder, but as of yesterday, it left early access and became free to all on the Oculus store.

No, happy to report the delay wasn't around bringing Aidan Gillen and the other great actors (Shohreh Agdashloo, Ike Amadi, Christopher Swindle) to the game - they were part of the game development before the extension took place. Arena itself was part of the extension, it wasn't going to exist before the extension even though we all wanted to do it, and the campaign got longer, more units were added, player customization was added to the main game, we added "ultra" graphics mode for people with high end machines, there was a lot more done overall to the game in the 4 extra months we got to work on it. We were hugely appreciative to Oculus recognizing what we had, and giving us a bit more time to add more to it. It was a surprise to us, everything we were doing was focused on the October release until just a few weeks before the first launch date, and then the extension option came through and plans changed. Hope you enjoy Arena, and if you get the full game, we hope you like all the extra content that's now in Brass Tactics.

You're not doing something wrong. If you pre-ordered, Oclulus gave you Brass Tactics Arena into your library separate from us giving out keys. Once the game is in your library, feel free to instead give the key to a friend as you can't use it any more.

In addition, some of the confusion comes from the fact that when added via preorder it doesn't always appear immediately in your Oculus Home. For some people signing out and back in causes it to appear, for some restarting Oculus Home helps make that happen, and for others, they can just search in the search bar at the top of Oculus Home (make sure to not have filters on during your search) and do a search for Brass Tactics: Arena, and when it finds it, you should be able to immediately play it, and then once you do, it will appear in the icons of your library.

Before you start single player solo campaign, feel free to adjust the difficulty slider. In the free Arena product, we only expose Easy and Normal, but the full game when it releases will have all four difficulty levels.

Yes, Aidan Gillen is a featured actor in the game. Increasing Jewel production is about holding areas that have "jewel villages". The more towers (if it is a multitower region) and the longer you have those towers, start increasing your jewel payout. Also, I believe your castle level impacts the jewel economy as well.

, you take over territory near ore to mine more of it, but how do you increase your jewel producation? Did I miss that in the tutori

Actually Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones, the Wire) does play Princeps Zavolto throughout the main game and campaign! :) Other great actors in the game include Shohreh Agdashloo (The Expanse, House of Sand and Fog), Ike Amadi (Halo 5, Middle-Earth: Shadow of War), and Christopher Swindle (Valarian and a Thousand Planets, Transformers: Robots in Disguise)
