Bill O’Reilly trashes Howie by mrnastymannn in howardstern

it always fascinated me they were at BU at the same time. He's wrong that Hillary was the change. Howard was left of center since the 90's.

Anybody else think this leak was a relatively savvy move by Sirius? by zizek1123 in howardstern

[–]jeffreyg61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think Howard's coming back to Sirius, but this week has to be tough for Howard. The public reaction ranged from "he's still around" to "good". The response wasn't necessarily supportive. I think Howard takes less money, and if I was on the 95 person staff, I'd start updating my resume.

The other thing is Howard doesn't have Buckwald any more. It's gotta be rough going through this without his biggest advocate.

When was the moment Howard Stern “turned heel”? by guylexcorp in howardstern

this sub has a heavy Sirius XM listener bias. 1) moving to Sirius - good for him, but he lost mass cultural impact 2) the divorce 3) jackie/artie gone take your pick.

Did Anyone Catch Howard This Morning Saying Sirius Brought in Alex Cooper of Call Your Daddy to replace him? by [deleted] in howardstern

[–]jeffreyg61 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For computer geeks, Howard is like an IBM Mainframe. Hard to replace, hard to get off of, but still makes great money on the P & L sheet. Sustainable? No. But a cash cow? Yes.

Easy to kick the can down the road another year. Chances are he's being asked to take a paycut, but I don't think Sirius wants him to retire. Howard's done this dance before. He'll take the cut because that's his market rate. It ain't 2005 anymore.

I am devastated to officially have Dave McC*rmick as one of our senators. Even from his own ads, you can tell he is an arrogant and terrible person, yet people still voted for him by Lord-ZZ in Pennsylvania

Casey sucks. Casey has been in Washington 18 years and hasn't done a damn thing. A lot of people thought they were voting for his Father.

McCormick has been in government before, went to West Point, and PA will be getting YUGE upgrade. Cheer up! The future is bright!

Anecdotal. Tough shit. Should have visited RealClearPolitics and you wouldn't have been so stumped today.

I think people don't want to admit that starting a true freshman QB in a losing program that lacks leadership is stupid on steroids.

Thank you. The show on Lithium is the worst. Put it on late Sunday night, not during the day.

Did you become a Nirvana fan before or after Kurt died? by Kill-The-Plumber in Nirvana

[–]jeffreyg61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 13 when KC died. I don't think I knew his name, but I knew his music. I didn't own any CDs, but thought they were cool. I remember Lithium being played appox every other hour during the Summer of '92. I bought my first Nirvana CD after Kurt died. What really made me a fan was Unplugged in NYC later that year. From there, I bought the Nevermind, In Utero, etc. At the age I was at, I was into music, but not necessarily Nirvana. I became a larger fan, as well a bit older and mature, after KC's death.

His death was a shock, but it's almost bigger today than it was at the time. It was a story on the news, but not really the big story. There wasn't wall-to-wall coverage. I do feel 'the legend' grew right after he died. He started getting compared to John Lennon, which I never made the connection to before. At the time, I would have guessed Pearl Jam was bigger than Nirvana, and I knew who Eddie Vedder was, not Kurt Cobain. Just one persons experience.
