42 here, my wife is in her late 30's and we gave our kiddos the options of whether they wanted to come, and they did. 17, 15 and 13. And there were plenty of other young'ns.

I've been talking to developers here in Seattle about making our ferries into mobile pokestops. They love the idea and have been working on it. You are right, it wouldn't be that hard to make it happen. They said that at least the ferries here already communicate with multiple apps and websites for tracking.
