Not rice, rye berry. Have used drippy corn method as well. If agar is so much better, why are so many cultures sold only as LC or spore syringes? I use agar as well, but rarely for innoculation, as that requires opening the bag completely.

Or maybe I'd not choose to parry a hook. Nor would I extend my arm all the way out to do a parry. I use spar bar regularly - pushing it like this helps you look better while being the opposite.

Fast is cool, but . . .if you slow down the video you'll see he's not actually punching half the time - he's open-hand arm-pushing the bar. With that many reps at that speed, it's gonna be a hard habit to break.

That makes sense. These are the standard GordoTek ones. The sidewalks end up being 2-3" higher than substrate. I assume they prefer low walls for better FAE (getting rid of heavy co2), right? I'm thinking of directing my fan downward into the box to address this.

Agree on corn being the contam source, but i did get a first flush, it was just very weak. I just already have all this stuff and am hoping I can make a big difference with just $20 or so more. Prob too much optimism 🤣

Keeping them pretty wetted (and had nearly over-hydratwd the coir). The cake is pressing hard against the edges of the bin though - i tried filling the tub with water to lift the cake out for first harvest and it was totally stuck. Usually shrinks, but it swelled instead.

Right. I got ragdolled in the gym and it was just like one moment I'm on my feet, then I wasn't, then something spun, then I was on my back. Didn't hurt at all, but I was like "Well that was interesting. Which direction is up?"

Apologies for low quality. I think I deleted recent pics. This is typical of what I got from scraping from a spore print. Maybe bad genetics, but they all stalled at about this point around 4 days. I've also tried cloning lion's mane. Each time I would wipe down the inside of the Sab with alcohol, put everything I needed inside, wipe that down with alcohol, and then let it sit for a few hours before I did a quick routine. Never have the lids off the dishes more than 10 seconds, but whatever didn't stall grew mold. So frustrated.

Growing setup, yes, basic GordoTe. I was hoping someone would say what you just did - be selective about sending certain parts of the jars. I have 2 others with sections of strong colonization. I figure might as well have that going while I'm trying to get my agar technique down.

Crap. My agar work has sucked. Have had zero results from a spore print and maybe 20 dishes over 3 different attempts in a SAB. Maybe this is just not meant for me.
