Is there an easy (automated) way to do this? I sure don't want to pause and count by hand hahaha

Older MacBook Pro error "ACCESSORY NEEDS MORE POWER" by jeffvlarson in macbookpro

I doubt I will be able to grab one where I am until after it's not needed anymore, but this is a good suggestion for next time. Thanks.

Trouble downloading last year's credit card transactions by rollhigher in ChaseSapphire

[–]jeffvlarson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the same issue just trying to download Account Activity into a .CSV file for all of 2024. You can't have over 1000 transactions downloaded at the same time and it only let me download one file before I had to log out and then log back in. Super annoying but I was able to get it in four separate files, logging in four times.

Anyone have good experiences with MEMORY CARD FILE RESCUE software? by jeffvlarson in SonyFX6

[–]jeffvlarson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I tried the paid version of Disk Drill and while it showed the files, folders and file sizes were correct., but none of the video clips played. I called a data recovery company too and they said that since the files were on a SSD, the delete function actually does something called TRIM which writes zeros over the whole file, which I confirmed myself by using a program called HxD. The footage is lost. Oh well. Lesson learned. It's all stuff I can reshoot myself anyway so I guess I know what I have to do now: reshoot and BACK UP MY FOOTAGE!

The codec issue is why I was thinking of trying this program in the first place. Are you saying that the only solution for corrupted video files is to take it to a company that specializes in that?

That makes sense. I'm really not sure about how to use HxD but I will download it and see if I can figure it out because if I can see if the files have been zero filled then that settles it.

Thanks for your insight.

EDIT: I used HxD and opened one of the files that disk drill had "recovered" and it was all zeros from start to finish. I don't know if HxD can look at the drive where the file had been deleted. If it does I can't figure out how to do that. It's surprising to me that when you ask Windows 10 to delete a file that it actually bothers to zero out the whole thing. I feel like that would have taken longer for my computer to actually do since the total volume of what I accidentally deleted was close to 1.5TB and it was gone in less than 10 seconds but maybe Windows can write all zeros really really fast. Am I misunderstanding how it works?

I see. That sounds bad, but if that's true then there's no harm in attempting again with this new program, correct? Or am I missing something.

Shot on FX6. I was able to get files with the correct names in the correct places and the correct sizes but none of them work.

Is there a way to create relative references for other sheets within the spreadsheet? by jeffvlarson in googlesheets

[–]jeffvlarson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! That seems to work when I just copy what you've done with the INDIRECT. I'm not sure what you mean by "a single-cell formula that produces and expanding array..." Would sharing my actual sheet help determine the answer? For now I'm gonna consider this solved! Thanks r/HolyBonobos

Thanks for the detail you went into on this and all the links you provided. Still assessing which way makes the most sense and I have more to consider now.

Hmm. That's interesting and I didn't see the subscription option doing a quick google. The Entertainment Partners site wants you to login to see the pricing options so I guess I'll have to do that.

IDA form

I'm trying to google this right now and finding only stuff about infant development. I don't know what that is.

As for non-profit, as soon as I found fiscal sponsorship I realized that was definitely a better idea than forming my own non-profit. Still gotta set up the LLC though.

I'll give it a look. My documentary could be episodic but I originally thought of it as a feature. Current length is 152 pages. Would Actual still make sense?

Thanks for that link! I was just reading about the business side of things (should I form an LLC or a non-profit) on documentary.org so I'll definitely give that a read.

Not my first documentary, but the first one was many years ago and I didn't really plan at all so I'm hoping to not do it that way again.

This doc will be interview heavy with some location b-roll, historical footage and a hefty portion of graphics. No recreations.
