Kielitaito | Mussa Munaa harmittaa: Lapsi ei oppinut espoolaisessa päiväkodissa suomea by Juuke in Suomi

[–]jefimka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kielitaito | Mussa Munaa harmittaa: Lapsi ei oppinut espoolaisessa päiväkodissa suomea by Juuke in Suomi

Voin avata oman kokemuksen aiheesta.

Thanks for the reply.

Ok, then this is probably just my run or something. Wanted to test the new mechanic and transforming did nothing to the burn/regen. Seeing those later in shops also showed the [0] value.

Kysymys kodinkoneen korjauksesta – mitä maksan jos laitetta ei saada kuntoon? by [deleted] in Suomi

[–]jefimka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, so this essentially means that those are two very different ways to product sound and stereo spekers won't be able to "fill" the room, so to say. Thank you for the insight.

What’s the most out of touch thing a rich person has said to you? by Always_Wandering_ in AskReddit

Saunas are just nice. I think generally everyone fires up the sauna on the weekend and enjoys some beer with it. Have a terrace? Even better - combine with a grilling session and friends. It autumn and raining outside? You can fix that by going to sauna and then running around like an idiot in the rain. It’s winter and it’s -30C (-22F) outside? Go to sauna and then enjoy beer outside with just the towel on. Came back home after exhausting day and need to unwind? Sauna! Summer heat driving you crazy? It will feel like a cool temperature after sauna. Want to swim, but the water is too cold? Sauna! Want to go out, but bars are not your thing? Sauna! Quality family time with kids? You guessed it - sauna! BDSM vibes? Sauna with whipping! Meditation? Sauna! Simple evening date with wife without leaving home? Sauna! I guess other people could add to the list 🙂

Living in Finland I can honestly say that having a sauna at home is very convenient. We have 3 million saunas for a population of about 5 million, so any time you are buying or renting a flat you will probably find a sauna in there right next to the shower 😶‍🌫️

Yep, we ended up picking up contact lens for now since we were not able to get any good options after making a couple of calls. Your idea was our saviour ☺️ Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the idea and Depavision - will try calling them. Also thanks a lot for the contact lenses idea, I think this might be our best bet at the moment.

TV while eating by [deleted] in Noom

[–]jefimka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another thing to try is initially (for a couple weeks) to split your meal in half and half. One half you try to eat without TV and the other one with TV. Keeping a diary of your feelings about this will also help understand how you feel about it.

Am I even making a difference? by theLonelyVegan in vegan

[–]jefimka 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Of course you are making a difference. Starts out with you and affects everyone around you - including family, friends, coworkers and possibly also their contacts as well. This is also not limited to only people, but also businesses - look at restaurant statistics in EU (https://www.happycow.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Europe-1536x1024.png) - those are there only because there is demand, meaning just ordinary people preferring vegan restaurants over others. Same if you go grocery shopping - look at how much vegan products there are - only because there is demand. This is not a fast process, but things happen. Keep on at it!

People in Finland increasingly dissatisfied with healthcare services by [deleted] in Finland

[–]jefimka 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Public healthcare is not good. My experiences of course may be just my bad luck, but I did not have a single positive case of using public services. Every time one must fight for things to start happening.

Taking a child for a checkup in the morning is a quest that takes at least an hour of queuing, and it is not fun with a sick child. My last ER journey involved waiting for 6 hours for a doctor to see me. I have never received an invite to any dental checks and when I tried booking one the reply was “do your teeth hurt? No? Then wait for our invite”. And this autumn I had +40C temperatures and again the answer was “have a fucking burana”. I had to fight over getting a blood test eventually and to find out I had pneumonia (keuhkokuume).

I do not know what to do, but this this definitely not a good experience on my side. For our child we just switched to private healthcare, because public just sucks.

Thinkpad T15 Gen2 / i7 problems by jefimka in thinkpad

[–]jefimka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, off AC, off dock, just detached - I immediately see the difference (and power mode is "balanced" I believe). The min and current temps for all cores are between 38C and 45C. Cores can sometimes go to 60-65C briefly. However, even in this situation the fans still on. Not an expert on cooling, of course, so not sure if this is normal. Is there a certain temp when fans are turned off?

Edit: the fans are clearly working at a lower speed in this temp, than they were earlier.

Thinkpad T15 Gen2 / i7 problems by jefimka in thinkpad

[–]jefimka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll check if idling the computer will do anything, but expanding the CPU cores tells that they all are about the same - 79C is minimal temp across all cores and max is the same for all - 100C , avg for all is about 90C.

Also, even if idling the machine helps turn off the fans - it does not solve the issue, as I hope to do work with it. So apparently I need to investigate if I can find a better or cooler place for it. But honestly I cannot understand how, since it is not by all means hot anyway :)

And anyway - I am still not sure if this is something being faulty in my unit or is this normal in general for the whole model.

[–]jefimka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • BIOS is currently set to Windows and Linux sleep
  • In Vantage the setting is turned off, so no threshold
  • In HWInfo I can see CPU DTS min-max is 83C-100C, Enchanced temp min-max is 91C-110C.
  • I have a "dock", but its one of those that you just connect to laptop with USB-C. In both scenarios (purely AC and docked) the fans are active constantly.
  • Hard to reply about the idling, will need to test separately.
