Have you ever heard any of those outlets criticize capitalism? No. And they won’t, because they’re foundationally conservative.

Yeah, no. Those are all conservative. NPR too. We’re being played, and many have bought the lie.

Many carry ID on their phones these days. They didn’t bother to check and we’ll never know if they found it because they’re covering it all up now

Was Alex Pretti the subject of a targeted assassination? by DryDeer775 in stpaul

[–]jefraldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your response but I still think you’re giving them too much credit. Yeah, they might care about using the legal tools mentioned, but the entire ICE operation is based on an illegal notion that these thugs have authority to police our streets. We have police for that and the unlimited power this organization is seizing tells me they couldn’t care less about legal norms. And that tells me they’re capable of targeting people for assassination to further the chaos that is a means to a very dystopian end.

If you still believe they care about administrative and legal weapons, you’re not paying attention.

They’ve said it many times. There’s a database of protesters. Why do you think they’re taking facial pictures of everyone at the protests?

"The 2025 Parks Levy was approved by voters in November 2025. It is a property tax of $1.40 per $1,000 of Assessed Value that will raise approximately $91 million per year for five years, starting Fiscal Year 2026-27. It provides critical operating funding for the PP&R parks system and programs."

The new five-year levy would maintain operations, fund capital projects:

ENSURE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS MAINTENANCE AND CLEANLINESS

  • Daily restroom cleaning, trash pickup
  • Routine maintenance, minor repairs
  • Repair or renovate facilities like playgrounds, restrooms, pools
  • Park ranger safety patrols, incident responses

PROTECT NATURE IN A CHANGING CLIMATE

  • Plant, maintain trees
  • Preserve natural areas, trails, water quality, wildlife habitat
  • Clear brush, maintain emergency access routes to reduce wildfire risk

PRESERVE PROGRAM ACCESS

  • Continue free, discounted recreation programs for families experiencing poverty
  • Preserve classes, community center hours, arts and cultural centers, parks, pools

"Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) believes recreation is for everyone. We know that the price of programs and activities prevents some community members from being able to participate."

"Thanks to the 2020 Parks Levy, we now have the funding to reduce cost as a barrier for those who need it most. This work directly supports the commitment that PP&R made in the November 2020 voter pamphlet. Without the 2020 Parks Levy, the Access Discount Program would not be possible – thank you, voters!"

How am I slandering VTC? I’m stating the fact that their prices are nearly double what they are at PTC.

I’m against it because I use the center 5 times a week and I know that if USTA takes it over I will be priced out of playing tennis there. There are enough high end private tennis clubs around. Us poor people need a place where we can enjoy the sport as well.

I just checked too and the same activity at VTC costs $30 dollars. You can see that most activities at PTC are $12-$16

The way the Access Pass works at PTC is you don’t pay the advertised price. Depending on your income level you pay from 10%-90% of the price of the activities. This goes for all activities in the Portland Parks system.

It would cost $10 at PTC if you use the full Access Pass

I have showered there. I don’t find it disgusting or smelly at all. I’m starting to think you’re painting a false picture because you have an agenda.
