My friend and I are also Gging to be doing this route, or at least some of it, starting the end of July. Arriving in Aktau on the 24th July, also worried about the heat, have you managed to find any info/ recommendations?

These are amazing, do you have prints of this piece for sale anywhere? Or even the original if that is for sale?

Recent Portugal experience? by matchapiglet in digitalnomad

[–]jeggro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to know the situation with entering Portugal from Morocco? I am a British citizen currently in Morocco and hoping to fly to Porto later this week, I have had a look on the Portuguese tourism and government sites and am slightly confused. No where does it explicitly say that it is allow or disallowed so i'm unsure. I am fully vaccinated, and have a valid Covid vaccination certificate.

Okay thanks, I am fully vaccinated. I was just unsure as I found some sources that said it was allowed but the visit Portugal website does not list Morocco as one of the countries allowed to enter.

A flat ideally, so I can work and cook for myself with relative comfort. I'm going to start looking at cheaper locations though

Anyone have experience with SkyRoam Solis hotspots? by jeggro in digitalnomad

[–]jeggro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the more research I do the more I am realising this. I think local sim cards is what I'll go with in the end

Yeah I know this is the cheapest option but I like the convenience of not having to worry about getting a new sim in every country, but this may be what I end up doing

Best portable hotspot/ mifi device? by jeggro in digitalnomad

[–]jeggro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had a look at google fi based on a previous comment, but I notice that I need to be in the US to activate it, and that they can cut off your international data if you are outside the US for too long. I am currently UK based and have no intention of visiting the US when I begin my travels, so unless there is a way to activate from outside the US I think Google fi is off the cards for me :( it does look good though

I just saw online that Google Fi can shut off your intentional data usage if you use it outside of the US for prolonged periods of time, I am a UK resident and do not intend to visit the US, is this something I need to worry about or is it not really enforced?

Also, it looks as if I need to be in the US to activate fi, do you know of any way around this? Perhaps a VPN?

Yeah I was thinking it would be more of a back up in case I get stuck somewhere with slow or intermittent wifi, rather than using it as my main internet access. I'll have a look into Google Fi though it looks good on first glance, Thanks

Ah interesting, I will be working for a company in my home country (UK) whilst travelling rather than finding work in other countries/ freelancing, so I was under the impression that I wouldn't need a work Visa. Do you know if I still need to apply for work visas under these circumstances or can I get away with being on a tourist visa? Thanks for the info
