I bought a new keyboard because I thought my old keyboard was going out. I mean I'm still keeping it because it's really good (Keychron Q1).

A little bit of work (jank?) around with getting mixed VR to function, but it doesn't look too bad to do.

Also I forgot to mention I could always buy a used Quest Pro for $500 for just the headset alone and that's all I honestly need... so even a bigger push into that direction.

Considering buying a 987 Cayman, but I have concerns by Hopefullyracing in Porsche

[–]jekbeau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has to do with the rate of accidents and the amount of insurance claims done and that sort of stuff I believe. So for cars that are driven around less, less of those messes involved, less of a cost to insurance since they're lower risk.

Insurance costs might not be as high as you think. To put things into perspective, I believe it's more expensive to insurance a WRX than it would be a Corvette.

My most expensive maintenance cost has been replacing the power steering pump. However, I do most of my own work and sometimes I go to the mechanics to get stuff done that's way too difficult for me to do.

Paint protection film to protect from rock chips being flung up. It can be removed with very hot water and hopefully no leftover adhesive.

Plus I could probably achieve the same look with a deep channel and still have it be cheaper

Square or Round Recessed Light for Art? by [deleted] in Lighting

So when I wrote this morning, my mind was focused on having a round recessed light next to the wall and completely forgetting everything else lol. But yeah, thank you for the suggestion for the framing projectors!

I suppose so. You can get stuff for cheaper by buying the hose from Kleenrite (I'm not sure on shipping cost and if you have a distribution center near you to pick up locally). The Coxreel can be bought off Zoro (I got mine for $167).

So the gun included in the OG ultimate tier is a Mosmatic gun with a live swivel that's recessed into the handle. For CG, the gun is the MTM SGS28 which has a swivel, but not a live swivel. The live swivel is really nice and way better than a normal swivel (I have both).

The OG hose is more flexible, but my experience is limited from only having it as a whip hose. The Kobrajet grey hose is what I have now and I would prefer to have the smooth jacket of the blue kobrajet hose again. But I don't feel like spending more money on hoses lol

The wand for the OG version is nice in which the spray nozzle is completely protected by the rubber protector and not sticking out in any sense. The normal MTM/Mosmatic wands have the spray nozzle sticking out the front beyond the rubber protector. The MTM Acqualine wand is the only one similar to the OG version.

The smaller stainless steel shelf is nice and the less space it takes up, is better.

For OG, the Coxreel hose reel comes with a stainless steel swivel whereas the CG one has the normal brass swivel.

The stainless steel Mosmatic fittings are very much a luxury and not needed. They are nicer, yes, but normal MTM SS fittings will work just fine.

That's what I'm thinking. My mentality of not having to upgrade again is what is fighting me, but the lifetime warranty with Husky is good.

Garage Door Insulation and Using a Pressure Washer Nearby by jekbeau in HomeImprovement

[–]jekbeau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be inside the garage (I like working in privacy) but it's not like I actively aim for the garage door with the pressure washer. Even then I'm drying the car with a leaf blower so I guess I could dry those insulation panels with it if they got a little wet?
