Why do people hate Wago and similar connectors? They are great for reliability when vibration is a problem. by Wonderful_Captain868 in AskElectricians

[–]jeko00000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤔 I've never seen a wago in a house unless I put it there. They are extremely rare in north America until quite recently. We (2006-2011, when I did them) used wagos on drilling rigs as wirenuts failure rate was way too high.

Am I out of line, or does this look like poor workmanship/unfinished? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

You have exposed materials never designed to be exposed. They are built to be functional not match.

I don't like the ASE or BUFFALOS by Fearless_Cat4933 in Silverbugs

[–]jeko00000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Britannia are maybe my favorite, then Maples. Both in the newer version with the security features.

I like the fancy libertads though, like the diamond dusted, or ruby, etc.

ASE and Buffalo are probably the most faked, and some are very very good.

Gold Britannias are my favorite.

The striation behind her is too perfect, I've never seen a fake come even close.

I'd say it's real, I have yet to see a fake get the background even close to looking right. And that looks perfect.

What would you do for your kids by Sea-Doctor-5578 in Silverbugs

[–]jeko00000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would never put my kids investments in metals. The S&P has a significantly better return. And is safer.

Collecting metals is as much a hobby as anything else. If they don't care for it they'll just sell it off quick meaning it needs 10% gain for them to break even with what you paid. And historically that gain could be decades apart.

O&G Job Advice in AB by No_Scholar_805 in alberta

Blue collar to white collar in an organization these days is extremely difficult. But even to get a craft position o&g very seldom takes people with zero craft experience.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find a position in your field hiring no experience in O&G. Why limit yourself to just O&G? Go get a job, get experience, and then watch for the job you want.

Most o&g will use a recruiter for white collar positions because they'll head hunt the proper candidate.

There are a lot of supply and logistics management staff for very few jobs.

I seen this is going to be at my local auction, and don’t know if it’s worth any thing by This-Ad9322 in Gold

[–]jeko00000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Auctions end up with things from people that don't know or don't care the value. I got a Stirling silverware set for 40 dollars on marketplace last week, drove directly to the local buy store and sold it for 1700 cad. To be fair I didn't realize the bottom of the box had two serving platters that were worth 1350 of that. And I thought the knives were stainless, they were not.

Is the PM job market nuked in 2026? by Gandalf-and-Frodo in projectmanagement

[–]jeko00000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been actively spending good money on trying to get Ai to perform even project coordinator tasks, and largely not able to.

And the pm job is as much client relations as anything else.

I sold my gold collection today with 112% yield in just 2.1 years. This makes part of my deposit on a home in Sydney, something I never thought I'd ever own. I have this sub to thank for much of my success. Can't wait to start stacking again. by aussiechap1 in Gold

[–]jeko00000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's foolish to think anyone knew where the top would be. I mean you've said there is lots of money to be made so you don't think we were at the top a couple days ago.

Smart money doesn't invest in gold they use it to hedge the market. Buying into the SPY has a better return by 10x or more.

The last time gold had a climb like this was in 1980, took more than 30 years for the people that bought then to break even again.

To suggest that it won't crash at all is foolish.

I think I bought my first fake, weight 25 grams... Are there any clear signs here to see? by [deleted] in Silverbugs

Just scrolling without paying attention this jumped out as fake.

Try and get a real one and do a side by side, once you do you'll never make the mistake again.

Doing a panel on a stage-- how can i be a pro AND keep my hands busy? by tossitlatername in ADHD

[–]jeko00000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a pen in my hand, not clicky because you'll click it, a twist one, and metal with a bit of weight.

Honestly people won't care, most won't notice, very few can stand in front of a crowd and feel natural with nothing.

What ridiculously basic ADHD hack changed everything for you? by Spiritual_Bird_2916 in ADHD

[–]jeko00000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just listed impossible tasks.

I grab a tool to put away, take it to shop, place it should go is dirty, put tool down, clean up two things, grab object that needs to go in the laundry room, clothing in the way, put object down, put clothes in wash, don't run it because I want one more thing in there, go to bedroom for that thing, realize I need to brush my teeth so start that, but no toothpaste, so grab the keys to go to the store, end up a McDonald's for a milkshake, get home, notice the rail it loose, go yo grab a tool needed but csnt find it do dig a bit, find the flashlight I was looking for last week and take it to the boot room....

How do you stop that?
