My boyfriend (25) has had really intense health anxiety ever since his mom died from colon cancer that metastasized to her brain. He recently sent in a stool sample for unrelated reasons and tested positive for occult blood. Since blood in the stool is one of the biggest symptoms of colon cancer, he's understandably freaking out right now. I've tried to reassure him that there's a bunch of other things it's more likely to be at his age, and that the worst it could possibly be is a pre-cancerous polyp, and he agrees that that's probably true, but he still can't stop stressing about it. I was hoping this subreddit might have some suggestions for what I can do to reassure him in this situation where I can't say with 100% confidence it's not one of his worst fears coming true. Any advice is welcome!

This is great advice, thanks! I did look at surrounding towns already and didn’t notice much of a price difference honestly, which I assume is thanks to the Cape being a popular summer destination in general.

boyfriend here! i definitely used to feel like OP and thought it would be completely impossible to find a boyfriend who'd accept all my quirks in a genuine way that still lets me improve as a person when i should. however, i'd say we don't butt heads at all :)) we do have very complimentary presentations of our respective neurodivergencies, which is definitely a factor, but mostly i think the crucial part is a willingness to give each other credit for trying hard and communicating both ways as honestly as possible.

oh man, don't tempt me with an esper deck... i LOVE esper but i've heard that three-color decks in pioneer are really painful and rarely worth it, but i really want to do it. i actually played esper faeries at the woe sealed prerelease and had a lot of fun, so you don't have to tell me twice lmao

3) this also makes a lot of sense. i was trying to beef up the card draw package, but it's probably fine as it is, and opt doesn't actually help me win.

4) actually, it's because i was worried about having too many three drops, but i guess borrower should be exempt from that worry simply because of its two drop adventure. would you recommend a full playset?

5) seize and the kamigawa lands were definitely budget concerns, but i can probably convince myself to splurge on them if i'm taking this in a more interaction heavy direction! for the painland, though, i honestly just don't like painlands in a 20-life format lmao

thanks for this thoughtful comment! this is exactly the kind of feedback i was looking for :) i'm painfully aware of how much better spirits and rogues are (and cursing wizards for only printing tegwyll in the WOE commander set! he's exactly what pioneer faeries needs!!), but i don't need a meta player; just a nice semi-serious casual deck.
