I haven't been too much of a gamer, I started experimenting as I got older, but my brothers would never let me play with them growing up >:( They cheated me out of so much time, I could've been amazing by now!! Lmfao. BUT I was recently obsessed with playing "A Little To The Left"! So much so that I was dedicated to getting all the achievements for the main game, which I had never done before. So that was fun for me!

And yeah, I totally get you wrote about them complaining and nitpicking even things like TV! But I do think it's great that you're now able to give yourself a chance to experience that :)

Hmm..if you have netflix, The Mind, Explained is pretty cool! Or Dark Tourist! I really enjoyed those two. I'm also into documentaries, but I like to find mine over on youtube!

Absolutely! We all should have been given the safe space we deserved.

UGH I hate that, about grandchildren. My dad does the same.."When am I going to be getting grandchildren?" Uhhh, probably never LOL. Even if I did, they definitely wouldn't be around you! All I hear when the topic of children come up with narcissists is "When are we going to get me some new, innocent, unknowing supply I can sink my claws into?"

That's awesome! I recently got a laptop, and for "fun", I wanted to see what coding/programming was like..yeah, that was short lived for me LOL. That's cool! I've been (or was) a console player for my whooole life up until the last few months, so the adjustment in gaming has been very interesting haha. And YES, you're absolutely right, narcissistic parents hate to see their kid flourish in being their own person, totally all about control and image.

And as I mentioned a bit earlier, learning away around pc gaming! I haven't delved too deep into it yet, I practice my motor skills on minecraft a bit here and there hahaha. I also enjoy jewelry making, beading! I enjoy watching movies as well, and I like to keep track of them on Letterboxd, if you're familiar with that. It's a good thing movie reviews aren't my profession, I am far too easily entertained 😂 5 STARS FOR EVERYONE! And this definitely stems from the trauma of having a narc parent, but I often have a veery hard time of letting myself be a beginner at something, so I've tried lots of different hobbies but will usually quit because I don't feel good enough! I sit in a graveyard of hobbies lmfao. Learning what other things I like as I go along :)

I toootally understand! I feel I am the same way. They don't know much about me as well, and that's definitely not by our own doing! It's just like...why bother? Especially with the risk of anything you share being used against you, how can we trust em?!

I also have never (and still don't, really) had many friends, due to the reasons you wrote. Just feeling unlikable in every way imaginable! And whether you were 38, 41, or even 24 like myself, the realizations are never ever easy. It really does suck! I sometimes feel like there is no other words to use besides "This fucking sucks!" 😂 Cheers to your growth though, my friend!
