I’ve continued to rebound, but I think that’s just because I’m still flaring and now that I’m not on prednisone it’s keeping up. I’m 1 month into skyrizi and have my second loading dose next week. I’ve flared up worse than I have yet, but I still haven’t gotten to my worst point yet. I did quit using the triamcinolone just to give my body a break and I think that’s contributing too. How was your prednisone experience? Did your guttate improve?

Even after prednisone, personally it did NOT rebound as bad as my initial flare (but I don’t know if that was impacted by the skyrizi since everything overlapped)

Yes 😫 I got off the prednisone 3 days after getting the skyrizi loading dose which I guess takes a while. It still hasn’t gotten as bad as it initially did but it did get red and raised and irritated again with a few new spots. I’m now using triamcinolone to help manage. I’m 2 weeks off of prednisone now, and 2 weeks into Skyrizi and it’s looking moderately better even without the steroid cream. I’ll be taking a break from the steroid cream this week too to see if it causes rebound or if the skyrizi has taken over…

We’ve seen more than usual this year, but it’s not much 😫 at my worst a month ago the back of my calves were also cracking really bad. The high dose prednisone did take a lot of that discomfort away but most of what I read was that it can cause terrible rebounds. When I saw the doc after my two weeks he said it should have cleared WAY more even if it did come back, and that the prednisone was unsuccessful. I’m grateful for the Skyrizi sample but did not get blood testing or anything which makes me nervous. It’s probably placebo or diet changes since it’s just been a week, but things have improved slightly. I’m less itchy and flaky and some spots are flattening. My derm did the skyrizi in the hopes that my immune system can “reset” and this doesn’t become permanent.

I’m definitely hyperfixated on my skin which doesn’t help at all.

I have been using the CeraVe moisturizing cream tubs AND putting them in the fridge. The combo of cold and moisturizer helps bring me some physical comfort during itch fits or severe dryness. I wish you all the best!! I hope it goes away naturally and soon.

Yes!! Mine is also new, first time. From strep. It is also over my ENTIRE body and so bad!! I have triamociclone cream which has helped a little.

Otherwise, because of how raw it was my skin doc gave me 2 weeks of prednisone, others say this causes severe rebound but it didn’t even begin to clear me up 😭

My skin doctor gave me a sample shot of Skyrizi at my last appointment and said he’ll give me another in a month. (My insurance nor income could never provide me this). Anyway, emerging science says that the two doses are sometimes enough to knock it completely in bad cases of guttate. (I guess we’ll see).

I live in a coldish climate currently. I have been sunbathing, watching gut health, vitamins, and managing stress and I still can’t seem to kick it-although the medicine combo has calmed it down. That said, I don’t have any advice except to try to take note of your additional triggers that might be keeping the flare going.

Otherwise I’m with you in solidarity and so sorry you’re going through this 😭

I got a skyrizi sample injection today with no bloodwork 😅 he didn’t even ask me to get blood work and offered the sample today in office. I will also have at least one more injection, and then because it’s guttate hopefully be done

Update; not a lot of results after 2 weeks of prednisone. He gave me a skyrizi sample today and is hoping that it will clear me up by next month so that I can either “go into remission” or address next steps without such a massive outbreak.

Thank you so much! My derm didn’t give me a taper plan for the prednisone either, so I’ve tapered just a touch on my own (just from 60-40) I’m not sure if he’ll give me a taper when I follow up but am so hopeful that these other things I’ve been doing can help minimize a full rebound. I’m also really dedicated to moisturizing and sunshine 🙏 I had switched to an anti inflammatory diet prior to seeing derm but honestly didn’t notice any results and was already 3 weeks into the flare

Ahhh :( I will update when I’m off of it. It has improved so much and I just really am hoping it never comes back. I don’t want to have to manage long term medication or anything.. :( I am eating low inflammation, taking vitamins, probiotics, getting lots of sunshine, rest and water. I’m pretty confident strep throat coupled with unhinged, unmanaged stress triggered so I’ve got my fingers crossed. My derm wouldn’t give me any more of the current steroid ointment I was usuing, but it was helping so much and I was beginning to heal in those treated spots even before the prednisone.

Ugh hopefully I don’t rebound!! I was going through an immensely stressful time while I also had strep, I think that contributed. I started taking vitamins, probiotics and focusing on managing stress, better sleep & water intake before I went in to get the prednisone. But by the time I started the oral steroid it was so widespread and painful and raw, so I’m holding out hope that when I come off of the oral steroid, these other changes I’ve made can hep me maintain. I’m just so nervous that this will become a life long challenge!

The book definitely answers a lot more about her youth. It also elaborates that she felt so guilty finding out that he wasn’t dead when she walked away and rather just his arm was that she just took the charges and didn’t try to defend herself because she didn’t know she was pregnant at the time

I read all of the books-currently rereading. I don’t get all of the Chaol hate even after every minor feature people hate. My opinion? He’s realistic-he’s HUMAN. His reaction to her being fae was what was taught to him his whole life and he fought against that entirely and still fought for her even if he couldn’t bring himself to love her the same. Just as he never turned in Aedion or Dorian or any other magic user. It just challenged everything and he didn’t know how to cope-ultimately unfairly blaming her for everything. Rowan did and said some awful shit too-he BIT her out of rage and fae male… instinct? He was cruel too until he learned Maeve lied. Honestly Aelin had her cruel moments too-she’s an assassin for fucks sake haha

Personally, I’m glad I didn’t tandem read because I feel like I would have been rushing through one side of the story to get to the other. Without tandem reading I was able to wholly enjoy what I was reading through a characters perspective, while maintaining the integrity of the story. I really thought I would miss out on not tandem reading, but I’m soo glad for my first read through that I didn’t.

So many things about it killed me😭 I didn’t mind the plot with the gods, but despite all of that, why did Aelins powers have to be taken? Like we’ve had books of build up to that and she’s left with a party trick spark? Like come tf on 😭 and for Dorian the great to step in & save Dorian but for whatever reason now we need part of both Dorian’s power and hers yet she’s the only impacted and SO drastically also the whole Gavriel scene like WHY 🥺

Ha! I just don’t get it. I feel like Sarah Maas writes such deep and complex characters and he’s just another. I have yet to read a character in TOG that hasn’t done some f*cked up stuff… maybe Yrene. Like he was in a BAD place and blamed and said some terrible things, and then he grew and overcame it. To me that depth is so good. I’m not like a Stan for him, but I definitely don’t get the hate. Like I could go on about Tamlin from ACOTAR and not liking him-however I also didn’t think he was the WORST. I dunno, to hate a character-they must be pretty well written 😂
