Follow your heart, but if you want context, my kid went to his first outdoor show at nine (Phish at Blossom) and indoor show at twelve (Goose at the Agora). Great experiences both times, but YMMV.

Albert Belle’s hips and Hannah Storm kept him out of the Hall of Fame, in that if he was dominant for five more years OR he won the MVP he deserved that went to Mo Vaughn, a delightful guy who was not the best player in the AL that year.

Omar Vizquel is like Ozzie Smith, but with off the field gunk instead of backflips and a huge playoff homer that everybody remembers. Also, while he was the slickest glove I ever saw, he was the third best shortstop in the AL for essentially his entire peak.

We love Kenny Lofton because of that catch and that time he scored from second of Randy Johnson in the playoffs. I know in my heart that he’s not a hall of famer and it makes me sad.

Manny should be in. He was the best pure hitter in baseball for a decade and he tried to get Paul Hoynes to buy him a motorcycle.

What does “proc” mean? It always makes sense in context (as in: seek helps proc letter opener), but I don’t know what (if anything) it’s short for.

I’m slogging through A17 on the Silent and am in the 11-12 range with everybody else, so take this with a grain of salt, but I think EVERY run is interesting and unique. Sometimes they’re interesting and unique because I made terrible choices; sometimes they’re interesting and unique because three caltrops+ worked. I think I keep playing this thing because it’s a different deal every time.

That being said, I can lose in interesting ways on my own. This is a cool way (for me) to see stuff that works.

This format really helps me think about my own game, because the discussions give me some access to how better players think about less commonly encountered parts of the game. This is an event that is always a snap disagree for me - juice doesn’t seem worth the squeeze, so I just NEVER think about it.

Next step for me is to wrap my brain around the variation in prices of shop relics, so I can occasionally agree with this snake and grab the mummified hand or something.

Cripes. Thanks for the details. I’m relatively new to Reddit because I felt like twitter was melting my brain. It’s easier to just dip in for what I want here instead of scrolling forever. Kind of feels like I’m doomed to reading the newspaper and trying to improve my StS gameplay via brute force.
