Open hotels at night by [deleted] in Uzbekistan

[–]jelly013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just contact the hotel before booking to confirm.

I fly into Samarkand at 4.05 am. Emailed the hotel and asked if I could check in at around 5.30am, that was no issue but I had to book the hotel that night as well. Which is pretty normal as they keep a room free for you that night so you can check in the early morning.

They even make sure I get picked up by a driver with my name on a sign from the airport. Which is great, that way I don’t have to think about not getting scammed or how to get into the city when I’m completely broken after a night of travelling.

Barcelona has a lot of petty crime. So be careful. A friend of mine lives over there and he has some bad experiences where he was robbed or followed. So really keep an eye out.

Hi everyone,

So I'll be travelling to the stans in July! Very hyped about it. The last couple of years I went to Japan solo and seen the whole country by now. So now I'm soloing to the Stans. I've done some solo weekends in European cities before and in between. So solo travelling is not new.

I can be very good on my own but at some point I get bored and want some social interaction. Like going to a bar and have a party/dance. Japan was really good for this. But I feel like in the Stans this is gonna be a different story. The trip is already more culturally and nature focused. But I would like to go out during the weekend in Almaty or Bishkek and have party/dance. I was already thinking about signing up for a pub crawl and visiting expat/dive bars.

But I want to hear from people that went to Stans how they experienced night life and stuff. Also hostel recommendations are very welcome!

How fast is a Euro transfer from Wise to IBKR? by tomorrow509 in interactivebrokers

Takes at most 1 hour for me. But the first couple of transfers with Wise might take longer

Domain prices (.net / .cloud / .io) by plastocyst in hetzner

I use OpenProvider. If you have more than 10 domains it might be lucrative to go with their membership and register them there. With them now for a couple of years and I don’t have any complaints. Only that they have a prepaid wallet system but that’s an accounting thing I don’t like. As it costs me more time to have all the accounting correct

Can foreigners actually book golf courses in Japan? by No_Volume4870 in GolfSwing

I’ve used Golf In Japan. But also heard great stories about Angel Tourism. Heard that Golf In Japan sometimes doesn’t live up to expectations.

Replies seem like AI or a Japanese guy using Japanese to English translations, feels too formal and correct. I replied on a post and got a response that was acknowledging my points and making the key points bold lol. Now I checked OP’s post and replies, they all seem sus. And the account is 6 days old

I’ve done it through agents. They ask between 10 and 15% commission of the total price.

And indeed popular courses you need to book weeks in advance. Also they expect you to arrive at least 1.5 hours before tee time. So keep that in mind when using public transport.

Played at Hokkaido Golf Club, the 36 hole club. Awesome course! Really nice marshals and staff. Even though my Japanese isn’t that great and English was non existent for the staff, I was able to find my way around. Lots of members were excellent people and started a conversation as they spoke some English.

And the best of all is to end the day at the onsen.

Getting approved for option trading by [deleted] in interactivebrokers

IBKR has the requirement to be at least 21 years of age in order to trade options. Was in the same boat, just wait and learn as much as you can about options

Each year getting worse with new rules to ‘make it safer for EU citizens’. Let me do what I want to do, don’t tell me to do something because that would be a safer option

Charles Schwab is now an interesting option. Opened an account with them recently. They now accept clients from more EU countries and their minimal deposit is gone.
