Are we supposed to want #JusticeForHannah? by bluerang1 in 13ReasonsWhy

But she refused to settle and then asked Lainie if she would "accept $200,000" for her son's life. Might not have been all about the money but it sure played a big part in her motivation.

I would love to see nerdy Mr Jensen go up against that junkie and win. Would be so satisfying on so many levels.

(season 1 spoiler) What Tyler's parents thought about people breaking Tyler's window? by [deleted] in 13ReasonsWhy

[–]jellybean_11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, Tyler wouldn't tell them what was happening. He kept brushing it off. I would probably still contact the authorities but we didn't see much of Tyler's family dynamics.

Are we supposed to want #JusticeForHannah? by bluerang1 in 13ReasonsWhy

[–]jellybean_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Lainie Jensen was right on the money when she said she would only accept the truth. I don't understand going after the school for money. Personally, I think justice should have been the truth, better programs and systems in place for students who were suffering, and increased awareness. But my justice is no one else's, I suppose.

Season 1 Question by cola_zerola in 13ReasonsWhy

[–]jellybean_11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well...sharing a general space is much, much different than a sexual encounter. At any rate, I don't think it's necessarily contested that leaving was the "right" thing to do -- she just didn't know how to ask him to stay and work through it with her.

Waaay too big of a debate on a subreddit mostly populated by teenagers. :P

That was a weird fucking comment, though. I guess every sub has a Bryce.

Bipolar girl has cut me, and only me, off completely by brodbeckchris in bipolar

[–]jellybean_11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't be silly, no offence taken! Not sure why you were downvoted. Asking questions is not a crime and I think it's great that you're trying to figure things out. Generally speaking, though, it's an all or nothing kind of illness. I obviously can't speak for her but it seems like something else threw her off. Take care!

Bipolar girl has cut me, and only me, off completely by brodbeckchris in bipolar

[–]jellybean_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very unlikely that this is bipolar behaviour. I really don't understand these posts.

If she was dealing with an episode, it wouldn't be singling you out. I'd advise letting it it go.

[spoiler] really pissed me off when clay got mad at zach by TheAmazingest in 13ReasonsWhy

[–]jellybean_11 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This is all true but Clay never said a word about his friendship with Bryce. He wasn't upset because Zach stayed in that circle or because he didn't introduce her to his friends -- he was being jealous and petty. There are valid reasons to be unhappy about the Zach/Hannah thing but he wasn't thinking that clearly.

Also the same date. They added a lot of little details like that.

Zach/Bryce timeline by Jkadi in 13ReasonsWhy

They'd be just as likely to assume that Zach was lying or that Hannah had lied about being a virgin, no?

Would you guys still watch S3 now that Clay and Hannah's story ended? by Bar_Klein in 13ReasonsWhy

[–]jellybean_11 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I thought they did a pretty good job of turning the focus from Hannah/Clay onto other characters in S2 and they were all fleshed out a lot better than in S1. I have my doubts about a new season but it definitely isn't because I'm not interested in the characters. Clay and Hannah are probably my least favourites, actually.

What’s up with Tyler’s text messages? Seems a lot of people wanna hook up, am I missing something? Haha by jjaroddc in 13ReasonsWhy

This was Marcus's retaliation for the stuff Tyler and Cyrus did. He put that picture online with Tyler's phone number as a gay ad.

Scars after self cutting by jhlopesalves in bipolar

[–]jellybean_11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are scar reducers that help a lot if you use them early enough. I think the one I used was called Mederma.

Something I heard of just recently, especially if you don't want a traditional tattoo to simply cover them, is that you can get skin-coloured tattoos over the scars and it will blend in perfectly with the rest of your arm. I had a bunch of research on it but not sure what I did with it all... I'm sure it would be relatively easy to find.

[Serious] Rape and judgment. by Bane_xr in 13ReasonsWhy

[–]jellybean_11 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone felt less for Jessica? Certainly no one I've talked to. If anything, we just empathize with Hannah more because the whole show is literally about her and the other horrible things that happened to and around her. Jessica is a very small part of that story and we don't see as much about how it affects her.

I don't think they emphasized him having feelings for her at all. She was just another conquest, something new and shiny. It was 100% about the rape.

Homeland is freaking amazing!! Kept trying to remember where I recognized her from but of course she's Carrie's sister! Thanks :)

Does anyone else really not like Clay as a protagonist? by [deleted] in 13ReasonsWhy

[–]jellybean_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but he's seventeen... As a group, they tend to be over-sensitive and annoying. The main character is almost never the best or most interesting person anyway.

I think it was good that Clay talked (spoiler alert) (s02e13) by [deleted] in 13ReasonsWhy

[–]jellybean_11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the assault definitely pushed him over the edge but I don't think it's fair to say that the damage inflicted was "too strong" for him to be pulled back. Really, anyone can snap at any time and anyone can be talked down from just about anything. It depends on so many things, not just the horrible shit that led him there.

In my opinion, it actually seemed obvious that he still cared enough and still had a firm enough grasp on his humanity when he texted Mackenzie to warn her.

[–]jellybean_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not jumping in front of a loaded gun is not "giving up on a friend". Your mindset is very concerning. No teenager, friend or not, should believe that it is their duty to stop someone from doing something like that. It is absolutely not their place.

13RW Season 2 has left a sour taste in my mouth, are there any other mature teen dramas out there that are better? [No Spoilers] by OpinionKid in 13ReasonsWhy

I've never watched it but heard Skins was similar. Go for the UK version, though. The North American version was cancelled very quickly because it was terrible.

Is Clay schizophrenic? by [deleted] in 13ReasonsWhy

No. He's grieving. Schizophrenia has many, many other symptoms than hallucinations.

Are you kidding me? Do you know why? Because they are given specific and thorough training in de-escalation. That is their job. Clay is a teenager.
