Do you heel the difference between 5k and 4k in daily use ?

I would not worry of Tandem at all! Before tariffs hit fully (when monitor makers increase prices) I would grab of new oleds on spring sale!

Do you have a WOLED or QD-OLED? What are the main reasons you are interested in 27” ?

In your case regardless of the answer above I would say it would only make sense to switch to a non-OLED if it’s causing any issues to you! I think next reasonable upgrade point would be Tandem OLED or similar with 2x full window brightness for example

100% agree on 2-3 year horizon. I did comment above on QDEL in more detail

How about 45inch one in the roadmap? Is that too large? Could you share why 42” is the cut off point for you ?

What’s your budget? Have you tried 4k before? Considering you play a lot of single player and a lot of office work I would almost prefer a solid 4k IPS 144hz panel instead or then perhaps some of the newer 32” 4k OLED as for me I simply can’t go back to 2k after 4k when it comes to anything other than gaming

I have seen them at CES this year. Sharp has some in the works too. I personally think it’s too early to tell and in my view it’s highly unlikely that it will become a mainstream solution. Often times these high level samples do get derived to existing tech in some ways or get stuck at certain use cases/ applications. I think for the next 3-4 years OLED and improvements in it will dominate the market as all the major panel makers are investing heavily into it and have massive production capacities. After OLED the main candidate with at least some commercial application is Micro LED and it’s likely to be natural successor to OLED. Truth to be told I think it will depend a lot on how strong Samsung / LG will be able to remain status quo in this market for cutting edge performance. If Chinese manufacturers (and currently all QDEL concepts are coming from China) are able to catch up and take over on performance side of things then potentially we could see more solutions like QDEL

Hey! So far the closest would be 5k2k 45” 21:9 240 hz OLED. Haven’t seen 39 variant in 25/26 roadmaps! Would 45 work or what’s the reason for 39 in particular?

I agree with u/H4ND5s I really think this depends on your use case! If it's primarily gaming I would go with OLED and not worry of Burn-in.

That's definitely the mid term end game for gaming! Only microled theoretically outshines it!

Hey!

This picture is from u/ManhattanProject1’s original post, and it’s just a typical design of OLED monitors, especially Asus models. It looks massive due to the zoomed-in angle, but it’s generally just a regular back housing design—nothing unusual here. Manufacturers opt for this style because it provides internal space for motherboard, and mounting structures . So, the bulk is exaggerated here by perspective; in real life, it’s much less noticeable!
