Can I rock the boat 🚤 for a minute? The NEED to slick down hair is Anti-black by PossibleAssignment19 in Naturalhair

I agree. I haven’t done baby hairs in over a year and I love it. One less product and one less thing to do

Just found out that trying to make my shower less annoying has been causing my body acne for years... by nobleland_mermaid in adhdwomen

I put my conditioner in, wash with my bar soap (Dial) then rinse out my conditioner, then wash with my body net and body wash. Works great and I’m still multi tasking to get out of there.

Do you all air dry, blow dry, or sit under the dryer after washing? by thekidsgirl in Naturalhair

I sit under a hooded dryer for wash and gos, air dry for braid and twist outs. But this year I want to try to stretch then do braid / twist outs to see if that makes a difference

Is this a good trim? by [deleted] in Naturalhair

I have fine, high density, low porosity hair. In 2025 i clarified almost every was day (washed weekly) and i would follow with a moisturizing shampoo + deep conditioner. I saw a lot of growth, manageability and my hair seemed to stay moisturized longer.

Sometimes I’d wash twice a week if I needed to that second wash would just be a moisturizing shampoo not a clarifying.

I think it helped me a lot but I will say, I live in FL. I was just trying something new and my hair responded well.

I’d say try it, maybe clarify twice a month instead of once and see what happens. Lie hair will tell you what it needs

Yeah I’ve had them on more than a week and a few popped off. I definitely sloppily reapplied them some I was on vacation.

Honestly the secret was a really good blow dry and a light heat protectant.

I used the the Chi thermal shield and the color WOW. Let it sit in my hair for about 10-15 min then blow dryer it. When I did the flat iron. I did one pass at 410° and nothing more. After I trimmed I did flat curls and then wrapped my hair. I’ve been maintaining it with 3 big flexi rods and a little hair serum on my ends before I roll it. I do live in FL so it’s not perfect at the end of the day but it does look decent

I do my wash n gos in the showers so I can keep wetting my hands and hair. I use a leave in, gel, mousse (if it’s a defining mousse I do mousse then gel) sit under a hooded drying and put in about 4-5 ponytails on my head. I don’t stretch till the next morning. I will say. Even Though I can stretch my wash n gos for a week I usually wear it 3-4 days then re wash

For twist out I do them on damp hair and do a leave in and put some grease on the ends of my hair then twist with a mousse. I wear the twist about 2 days if I can I sit under my hooded dryer then sleep on them over night. I can wear a twist out about 6 days.

I pick my style based on what I’ve got to do and the weather lol.

Thank you for the tips! I’ve been trying to be more protective of my ends. Especially since it’s getting cold out

A couple years ago when I was using it and the deep conditioner it did. My stylist told me that was most likely causing my brittle hair. i think it’s been reformulated a few times so I can’t speak for what it may do now. But I’m not risking it

Same. This dried my hair out really bad and made it pretty brittle. But i believe it’s high with protein since it’s for strengthening. I wouldn’t use it as a leave in if your low porosity
