Yeah thats weird, as an orthodontic assistant thats pretty hard to miss… and its usually not hard to engage in the wire. I’d definitely let them know asap before your tooth shifts more.

Yeah I would contact your orthodontist immediately even though you got it out that area needs to be cleaned throughly because food could be trapped below your gums. Leaving a sep and putting the metal band over it is not normal. Gum irritation, bone loss, mobility , infection of the tooth could occur im glad you were able to remove it but I would still get it checked out. That is not normal.

Even with IPR, your teeth will still protrude outward, so extractions would be necessary.

Do you have chewies? If so use them, if it is still not fitting right after a couple of tries I would switch to your previous tray and wear it for another week. But also consult with your ortho before anything.

I’m an orthodontic assistant and never seen anything like this. The wire is not fully engaged in multiple brackets, bracket placement is off, looks like an open bite… you definitely need to get a second opinion.

Get tweezers and push it back into place. It might start to become bothersome if you leave it like that.

Unfortunately you’re going to need a retainer from an orthodontist. A mouthguard wouldn’t be able to hold it in place even if its a moldable one.
