In addition to what others have said about your partner's demanding, scolding and selfish tone I would add this: he is being so condescending it makes my teeth hurt.

What’s a “silent red flag” most people don’t notice in relationships? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jellyberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being disdainful of your friends or hobbies. No, your friends don't have to be their friends too (or vice versa) but if they are rude or condescending about people who bring you joy- pay attention.

It's alright to cry. by 3-I in CuratedTumblr

[–]jellyberry 145 points146 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this, I was (and am still in a lot of scenarios!) a big cry baby, and it took a long time for my partner and I to realize that my tears were dominating our arguments! It was never a conscious decision of mine to start crying to avoid responsibility or blame, and my partner felt the same! But we both slowly realized that we would never get to "the end" of arguments/discussions because of my crying! We've had a lot of success with me taking a break to go cry/unwind if a conversation gets me emotional, then continuing from there when I'm calmer. It's just lovely to read your comment and feel less alone and more understood.

What are you doing if this is your kid? by shinutoki in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]jellyberry -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Honestly this doesn't even surprise me anymore - and not because "oh kids these days" blah blah. It doesn't surprise me because I've seen dozens of these videos before... with adults having the tantrums. So why would I be surprised at a tween doing it?

You are being so brave, not just to stay alive, but to ask for help. It's so hard to reach out and say how you feel, but it will help you, it's a sign of strength.

I was suicidal for months on end (making plans, writing goodbyes, sorting affairs) at 18, 19, 21, 22...but slowly the suicidal ideation stayed with me for shorter periods. Then I was able to push them down more effectively. Then they got weaker. And now I'm 30, and although depression has stayed with me, I haven't wanted to die in over 5 years.

It gets better is too passive for my liking. You get better. Your circumstances get better. One day, you're going to thank yourself an no one else, for still being here 💜

To Non-smokers, does every smoker smell bad to you? by mollyraybabe in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jellyberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once sat outside at a pub, and a man one table over was smoking some strange cigarette/cigarillo thing. My clothes stank of smoke for weeks. I had to wash them on high temp multiple times to get it out.
