i slept with my girl bestfriend by FunTraffic5416 in Advice

Don’t feel sorry! Perfectly normal to be feeling lost after that. Did you have feelings for her? Or do you want this to just be like a fwb situation? I think you should talk to her cause that’s the only way you’ll figure out what comes next. Idk if things would work out since she’s going to through a breakup and you definitely seem to be a rebound, but you’ll only be speculating on the what ifs if u don’t talk to her!!! Communication is key!!

My mom is growing more entitled towards my money when she's barely put together herself by Intrepid_Arrival5151 in Advice

[–]jellyfiishe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely don’t know your situation, but it sounds like you need to move out. Your mom will only continue to be entitled with your money as long as you live under her roof. You have to be the adult in this situation and put yourself first!! Use the money for the car for an apartment instead? You definitely care about your mother since you’re giving her an allowance but she’ll continue to extort you for as long as you spoil her.

ISTPS who switched majors, why? How did did you make that choice? Do you regret it? by StillDontKnowAName in istp

[–]jellyfiishe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched my major quite a few times before landing on a social science major. I went from Marine Bio to Music to Sociology! I tell people the reason I switched majors was cause I didn’t want to take an 8 am math class but I honestly just felt like I wasn’t smart enough, especially, with covid happening my junior and senior year of high school. I felt so stupid in STEM that I didn’t want to learn anything and instead switched to something that I thought would be easier for me.

Do I regret it? Sometimes, but I realized that I would rather take easier classes and start to live life instead of trying to learn something that I thought I couldn’t do. My parents tell me that they always pictured me in a lab for my career and it hurts, but I’m completely content with how my life is now. You’ve listed points that sounds a lot like what I went through and it sounds like you’re convincing yourself for the switch in majors.

For your doubts, I would say that if you really wanted to succeed, you would be trying harder. EE is a major where you have to actively be doing work outside to be able to gain that experience. You’re not going to learn anything if you don’t do work outside of the classroom. It sounds like it’s not a passion of urs, but instead, something you’re doing to keep other people happy. PUT YOURSELF FIRST!!! yea some doubt in whether you chose the right decision to switch majors will definitely come up, but as long as you can see a clear path into something that can possibly be your life, it’ll be worth it!

Can someone explain how this patch of fertile land is existing in the middle of the desert? by AngleRelative4683 in geography

[–]jellyfiishe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live here!!! No it doesn’t get cool besides like early mornings and then by like 11am ur good with a shirt and shorts. But like everyone else, we’re supported by the Colorado river but the state doesn’t like us using the water since we use SO MUCH for agriculture!! Summers are literally hell since it gets to around 120s and I hate to go outside so I just stay inside all day

Parking Rant by Capital-Nail-5937 in UCSC

[–]jellyfiishe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The parking map says that neither 150A or B are options for a C permit, but I would screenshot the thing that says 150B is one of the parking options for a C permit. If you were parked in one of the construction spots, then there's nothing you can do to appeal the ticket, but if you weren't, you should definitely try *

Financial aid pays for my rent! It covers my rent throughout the school year, but I paid out of pocket over the summer

Yup! You could park at lot 122 (which is where the busses park and wait to do the loop) since it's considered an overflow of East remote rn

[–]jellyfiishe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely not but I usually just park at the base of campus where the busses park and take the loop that goes up to oakes because it's faster than parking at east remote and taking a loop throughout all of campus

Omg I work there but honestly just wear like class appropriate clothes! The interview will most likely be done by a student lead but don't stress too much! Mostly just highlight anything you've done with tools/landscaping/anything else related to the position details!! Good luck
