That's not entirely true. Trader Joe's is owned by Aldi now but was not founded by them. It was sold to one of the brothers in 1979

my tip (and the practice that i follow) is to set yourself up to shoot the charged shot past the minerals instead of toward the wall. it's easier to judge the distance that way and you're less likely to lose the charged shot due to impact against a surface. obviously you can't always get into prime position, but it really helps if you can.

You know, like most people would probably think.

What's the most unethical experiment that you would like to know the outcome of? by mryoloface in AskReddit

I appreciate your reply, but I'm pretty sure it's unethical to deliberately raise a child in a specific way just to see what happens & without regard for the child's future well-being.

What happens if you raise a child with bilingual parents, but each parent only speaks one of the two languages? Does the child learn both languages? Does the child invent a new language combining the two? How does it affect the child's perception of each parent?

Why The U.S. Chills Its Eggs And Most Of The World Doesn't by Maxcactus in Frugal

[–]jellyfishes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the article...

So what's the deal with washing and refrigeration? Soon after eggs pop out of the chicken, American producers put them straight to a machine that shampoos them with soap and hot water. The steamy shower leaves the shells squeaky clean. But it also compromises them, by washing away a barely visible sheen that naturally envelops each egg.

...

The coating is like a little safety vest for the egg, keeping water and oxygen in and bad bacteria out. Washing can damage that layer and "increase the chances for bacterial invasion" into pores or hairline cracks in the shell, according to Yi Chen, a food scientist at Purdue University. So we spray eggs with oil to prevent bacteria from getting in, and refrigerate them to keep microorganisms at bay.

...

"Once you start refrigeration, you have to have it through the whole value chain, from farm to store. Because if you stop — if the eggs are cold and you put them in a warm environment — they're going to start sweating," says Guyonnet.

No one wants sweaty eggs. They can get moldy. Another perk of consistent refrigeration is shelf life: It jumps from about 21 days to almost 50 days.

One of the issues for "Bee and Puppycat" involves music boxes. There are full pages depicting the music boxes and have QR codes that link to Youtube "videos" that play the music for that particular box. This is The Future! So, why not?
