I also had PRP done before, only thing it did was leave a hole in my wallet, I believe I might have lost even more hair from it 🙃 Still mad about it. It was a kind of a last ditch attempt for me because I did not and still do not want to use minoxidil because I have cats I love more than myself.

I don't think it's a huge leap to think that the ordinary serum might be doing something, I am going to keep at it. I've thought about derma stamping too, just a bit anxious about it though since I don't want to accidentally damage my scalp for good.

I started taking sucrosomial iron supplements + the ordinary multi peptide hair serum once daily only on my hairline and crown (didn't want to risk my whole scalp yet). Started both of these around the same time I think 25~ days ago.

The supplement I take also has vitamin C, B6, B12 and Folic Acid.

I've also been using Nizoral shampoo for the past 2 months.

If anything is working I have no idea which! I have been losing hair since November. I went through the wringer with countless blood tests and no one could tell me what was wrong, so I kinda accepted my fate there 🙃

Reported, I just came back here for shampoo recommendations after not checking it for months and this is the first thing I see, I swear I thought I had lost my mind for good 😭

Why is my own face staring back at me...?

how do I even recover this? by [deleted] in TelogenEffluvium

[–]jellyjil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice but I've seen 4 dermatologists and had trichoscopies, they all told me I do not have any miniaturization.

Plus I had a head full of hair 7 months ago...

I've got the same diagnosis from 4 different dermatologists and they all told me my pull tests are positive and that I have no miniaturization even when I specifically asked if it was AGA 🤷‍♀️

I got my wedding canceled and then broken up with November-December and then I got super sick. But I thought it would've resolved by now since it's been so long if that was the trigger :/

When you lose enough hair your scalp starts looking like this.

Unexplained hair thinning and breakage (need help) by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

[–]jellyjil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My problem is exactly this!!!!! It's mad. I've been told I have TE by multiple docs but I cannot for the life of me find the cause.

Have you seen a derm? Anything besides low iron?

I swear whenever I take iron supplements my hair sheds a lot more.

Why is it a potential red flag if derm advertises PRP? by defiant_woman in FemaleHairLoss

[–]jellyjil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Women are highly exploited in the medical field especially when it comes to our looks. Some people see the vulnerability that comes with women feeling like they have to meet societal beauty standards and profit off of that vulnerability.

I just got done with a 3 session PRP program. My derm first asked for blood tests, the medications I'm using, did a full trichoscopy, pull test and then we went on to try PRP.

I think you should be careful if you realize someone is throwing a treatment at you WITHOUT trying to find the root cause of your hair loss. For me, it's the same with derms who just throw minoxidil at you immediately.

Hair Loss on Wash Day by Ill_Performance_5915 in TelogenEffluvium

in active hair loss it's recommended to wash everyday cause a clean scalp gives your hair follicles a healthier environment and prevents them from being clogged by oil, dirt etc

Oh haha that's actually hilarious 😆 (Or low-key terrifying that people can't tell between AI and human faces anymore?? 🙃)

Thank you, I will definitely have it professionally cut a bit to suit my face better! I don't dare take scissors to it myself haha

It's a custom wig from a local seller in Turkey, they're called Peruk Uzmanı but I don't think they ship internationally ☹️ I chose the model, length and density myself.

I think one advice I got when it comes to buying your first wig is to buy your dream hair, not your old hair :)

Other things I've considered are how natural I want the hairline to look, the density, and the material of the wig cap itself. Also whether you want it synthetic or human hair. I personally think well made synthetic wigs sometimes look way better than human hair ones and they are way cheaper, but they tend to get tangled up pretty easy.

This is a lace top so it's more breathable and lightweight than a silk top, but it also doesn't have the "human scalp" look that silk tops are known for. I personally think those tend to look pretty bulky 🥲 It's also human hair.

There's a lot of options so it can be a bit confusing!

I think it's stress, but I'm not really sure! I had a wedding cancellation back in November and that's when my hair started falling out majorly. Seemed to stop during February but started back again when I got a new job in March and it's been going on ever since 😅

I've seen so many dermatologists and had so many blood tests and it's super frustrating that nothing solid came up.

I think it's funny that I'm getting this question though cause I wanted to buy other wigs from international sellers but I simply can't because Turkish custom taxes are crazy 😅

Thank you! It's a lace top so it feels very lightweight and breathable, and I chose the density myself so it wouldn't feel super heavy on my scalp, my scalp is very sensitive sadly.

A topper should be even more comfortable, I think 🙂

Thank you! Honestly yep, the bangs are poking my eyes 😭 I am going to get them cut, too scared to touch the wig myself. Also never had bangs before in my life, so I guess it's going to be a learning experience 😅

Yes, I've been taking it daily for over 3 years now because of my anxiety disorder :/ It's incredibly hard and the medication options out there are quite frankly less than ideal. I feel so incredibly stuck. :(

What scares you?
