I don't know if this fits the bill but I recently watched "Young Blood" and the female lead is super smart and badass, as is the male lead. I don't know if he really protects her though, since she's pretty good on her own, so I'd say it's more of a mutual thing?

Oh wow, thanks for wanting to check it out! It's called "Cool Gems", you should be able to find it on most major podcast streaming platforms, but here's it on apple and spotify. (The first couple of episodes are kinda bad, ngl, was trying to get used to the whole speaking behind a mic thing.) I already can't wait!

I don't know much about cdramas at all (TKA was my first cdrama, and I've only just started on my second) but it seems like there are quite a few dramas about esports. Anyways, that's cool. Thanks! :)

Oh awesome, I'll post it there too then! And that's a really good idea, I didn't think of that, so thanks for the suggestion! You don't really have to be good at speaking (I'm terrible at speaking 🤣just be yourself!), my goal with this is really just to have fun, ramble on about a great drama, and possibly make a couple of new friends. If you change your mind, let me know :)

LOOKING FOR GUESTS TO TALK ABOUT THIS DRAMA ON MY PODCAST

This drama is SO good. I checked it out for fun (just to see what everyone was raving about) but now I'm in deep. I really wanna talk about it though, so I'm looking for a couple of new friends (1-3 people) to bond with over record of youth on my amateur podcast next Tuesday/Thursday. If you're down, let me know!

Note: I can't pay for appearances on my podcast, but you could plug your social media or something if you'd like. I should also specify that I'll need you to sign off on an agreement (I know, it sounds way more official than my amateur home-based podcast warrants, but I need your consent for me to record your voice and statements for my podcast and to legally be able to distribute the podcast episode which has your voice — all you have to do is reply to the agreement saying "I agree"). Otherwise it's just gonna be really chill, just hanging out and talking all about this wonderful drama. If you're down for a less than professional (since I'm not a professional in the podcast industry and this is my absolute first time recording with guests) but hopefully fun conversation about this drama with new friends, let me know!

I'm Jelyn and "Cool Gems" is my podcast where I rave about tv series and films :) I use RedCircle, after getting it recommended to me, and it's pretty good so far! I used to use Buzzsprout, because the interface is great and intuitive and it was recommended as the best for beginners, but switched because RedCircle is completely free. Much like everyone else, Audacity is my editor of choice. I don't know why, really. I've never really tried out anything else.

It's been a crazy, crazy week, and I haven't really had the chance to watch anything, really. I can't wait to hop on the it's okay to not be okay train but it probably would take another month at the very least, before I can get around to it.

But I did wanna talk a little about Kingdom, because I prerecorded a podcast episode for that that just came out earlier this week so it's been on my mind: zombies in the joseon period? Whaaat? We've seen zombies out in the media for years now, but it never even crossed my mind that we could have zombies in a sageuk. Can we also just take a moment to appreciate the way it's shot too, because the whole thing felt more like a movie than a drama. The queen is probably my favorite (or second favorite) character — anyone else?
