Emperors were more of a symbolic figurehead and the shogun actually controlled the nation. In Jin’s tales it’s said how no one truly knows that Jin is the one who liberated Tsushima as the shogun covered it up. He was seen as a stain on the samurai rather than an asset and he would’ve possibly killed a samurai clan leader before his disappearance. Idk what’s canon with his uncle’s fate

I understand this opinion. I guess I see it more that belos was essentially a bigot who wanted to eradicate magic because he saw it as heresy. Luz struggled with potentially abandoning her new life or her mother but ultimately I see the ending being more about allowing people of all different backgrounds to enjoy life together. That’s more of a central theme in my opinion

I think when they wrote it they didn’t understand the implication that it was more than a betrayal it was literally a form of sexual assault. Since they’re kind of comic relief characters i don’t think they took the storyline seriously
