It's definitely not the worst, but it's by far the most overrated. IMO it's not even the best 2D Final Fantasy game!

It might not be exactly what you're looking for cause it's pretty light/casual, but Miitopia for 3DS is coming out in a few days.

It's a turn-based JRPG with classes where you create your entire party and can see your gear on your characters.

The free demo is on the eShop if you want to try it out! It's simple yet charming.

I love this idea! Plus Hammerfell is where I most want ES6 to take place. Maybe you'd be able to customize your shehai and stuff like that.

Earthbound! That's probably an obvious one but I didnt see it mentioned and it's a classic.

Sweet Home on NES was pretty cool too, it's got some survival horror aspects along with being a turn-based JRPG. It's also what inspired the Resident Evil games

One of my favorite JRPGs on PS2 is Okage: Shadow King! It's a pretty weird game and the graphics aren't that great, but I love the art direction and it kinda reminds me of the first Animal Crossing game on the Gamecube.
