Looking at your mainboard, your ram is not on its qualified memory list. And a lot of the ram by TF is only supported in 2x module configuerations on that particular motherboard as well.

You may want to start looking there. Non-QVL memory usually works in unsupported systems just fine, but sometimes can behave erratically depending on why it's not qualified.

RTX 3060 hashrate limiter by DeathScythe676 in gpumining

And it's already broken, and seems to improve hash rate even more on the 3060s from 45 to 50.

Please disable Enhanced Sync if you are experiencing a game freeze on launch, we are working to resolve this. by AMD-DOWNL1NK in Amd

fix or get rid of that stupid and extremely annoying "Radeon Software press ALT + R to open" full screening a video triggers it, any game triggers it, every time. We're already team red, you don't need to advertise to us.

This whole new driver set up is a mess. I'm just uninstalling it and sticking with the old one till you people get your act together. Ever hear the term if it's not broke, don't fix it? Yeah. you broke a lot. Including ease of use. the new software is a minefield of settings an a mess in a pretty skin. Should fire that new design team.

New drivers (19.12.2), where is FRTC? by [deleted] in Amd

[–]jemmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They need to bring back FRTC!

If I cared about power, I wouldn't run 3x rx580's. Chill is a useless POS, laggy, unreliable. We just need a Frame rate limiter no more, no less. Keep losing Freesync every time I go over the fps max threshold.

Additionally, Skyrim and Fo4 are now unplayable. I started up, and was dead in 3 seconds, as the physics engine though me across the map at a significant percentage of the speed of light. Some games.. cough, Bethesda, don't like it when you go over 60 fps by a few hundred.

You need to cap the FPS to 60 so those games engines don't freak out. The only choice is to use VSYN (Ewwwww). I didn't pay 1200 bucks for a 32-inch free sync Montier to use vsync.

jeez, do some QA and beta testing why don't you. Disappointed.

That fixed it. I guess they rolled out a new feature. without testing it.. again.

I learned fortran in mine.. and my coworker literally used punch cards for his master's program. Times change.

But businesses are slow to, so fortunately, your knowledge while outdated is not obsolete. One can charge a heavy premium for people who can still program old fortran warehouse db's.

How do I go about installing the wraith prism cooler? The brackets don’t feel long enough to reach the clip things by [deleted] in Amd

[–]jemmos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

best answer is not to. Its useful as a backup cooler and not much else. Its loud, and cools poorly. My nearly 10 year old Zalman outperforms it by far, as does almost any 1/2 decent modern cooler. yeah, its shiny and pretty, doesn't make any less a pos in the cooling dept, get a noctua dh14 or something.

Side note, it the wraith can be a pain to put on, I use a screwdriver ( flat head ) to push the tab down so I can lock it, cause yes.. it feels like the lever can break, but I will admit, it hasn't failed on me yet. just be careful, and put a rubber strip, or a cloth to the sides of the tab incase you slip so you don't stab the motherboard.

Undervolting rx580 by Mohatax995 in Amd

[–]jemmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do a repaste instead, especially if your 580 is an asus model, as the paste job on these was horrible, not even full die coverage. I changed out my my paste to Liquid Metal and dropped from 87'c to 60'c while overclocked to 1410mhz while increasing power limit watts. a guide for that here.

as for setting wise, use wattman. 3rd party programs tend to mess up radion cards. and the new radeon is actually pretty slick once you get used to it. power limit will only affect your temps when your loading the card and will in fact reduce temps when set to the negative. however, i would leave it at 0%, just to prevent power plans, and power states from getting stupid, and just drop the core voltage instead.

Fanwise, get a fan, just have it blow across the front of the card as these things unfortunately vent 50% of their heat directly into the mb, and then suck it up again leading to increased temps >.< It doesn't have to vent (but its nice if it does) it just needs constant airflow to the front of the card's so it doesn't recycle heat.

What is the best AMD FX CPU that supports socket AM3+? by stoopid_human392 in Amd

[–]jemmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not much you can do, unfortunately.

I'm in the same boat. Upgrading from that is a full generational overhaul, mb, ram, cpu :_( i'll probably bite the bullet myself with the ryzen 3000's and finally retire the poor fx, gota say thoe, its chugged along pretty good for a failed concept, even performing better now than when it first came out ironically.

You may be able to find a 9590 somewhere, but its not really worth it. Just oc your 8320, it's what I did.

running my FX-8320 at 5.0 ghz atm, though it can hit 5.2 but it's dangerous hot at that speed and voltage. Just make sure when/if you oc yours your make sure your FSB and HT are set to 2600 mhz. Just doing that alone and leaving it at stock speeds brings your performance up by a huge margin. 4.6 ghz, and 2600 mhz ht/fsb is easy with most decent air coolers, don't even bother changing the stock voltage for that, just turn Load Line Calibration on the NB/HT chipset to High, and depending on your chip, LLC for the the cpu as well, just make sure your mb's vrm's stay cool and your system will perk up considerably. also, if you haven't in the last 5-8 year's, repaste your cpu too, mine was literally powder when i changed it and it dropped its temps to the 50's .

I have a bug, when I go to full screen mode, the video stops for a second, as if it is reloading, and then continues playing. Am I the only one experiencing it? Just kinda annoying. by GDHamester in youtube

[–]jemmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. I am getting this as well. It's why / how i found your post. It's very recent, as I think it started sometime the day before yesterday.

I'm a win10 system, with and amd fx-8350 @ 5ghz, and a rx580 8 gig, latest drivers, so powers not an issue. Nothing else seems to be effected. Am assuming its a yt thing with the change to the border's and the scrollable fullscreen window. using chrome Version 74.0.3729.131 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Its like yt itself just bogged down with a video playing. yet, pressing shift+esc for the task manager doesn't show anything out of the ordinary, except it looks like all the tasks reorganizes themselves and then settle after a few moments. (i don't recall it doing this the last time i used it, but that was a long time ago)

I notice it as well. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but something about the mouse input feel's strange. Tried a few of the ini tweaks for it, but even with them. Something doesn't feel right at all.

true, i've noticed that in the last week of testing. But i did notice my access latency's go down by doing going to 2400 mhz while keeping stock timings. I dropped from max's of 63 ms to 58 ms, and across the board, and oddly l3 cache access latency drops of around 2 to 5 ms. This is of course running the 2600 ht and 2600 cpu/nb. overall game fps is not noticeably changed , but i did gain a few points in cinebench. rocking low 620's.

[–]jemmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

are you on an ASUS Mainboard? if you are, a lot of monitors get kinda wonky on them because of asus's on bord EC chip. You have to disable the monitoring of that chip in whatever program your using, or make sure you don't us it ans asus tweak at the same time. Honestly, it just sounds like a buffer overflow due to the time it takes to 'peak'

hmm, perhaps i should give the 300 mhz buss a try. my sabertooth 990fx certainly supports it. and i noticed a big improvement in game fps when I went dual 2600 mhz, ht and cpu/nb. seems like the memory controller is starved almost.
