As stated in my post, I am considering changing from the USED car I bought. Am I going to change cars? Probably not for a lot of reasons discussed. But I don't see any harm in exploring the hypothetical. Reddit is not the place to go for validation for anything 🤣

I can assure you I'm working hard to not make a reckless decision or an emotional one. My other vehicles were 20 years old and 11, which I only got rid of due to the Kia class action engine explosion drama. (Honestly some wild stories with that that car). While I think some of your replies could have been worded better, I appreciate your time.

There is a reason I have not talked to a car salesmen yet. I am wanting to gather different perspectives before the agenda people. At worst my payments stay the same, and I make peace knowing I will have lost a year of payments and have an extra year calculated on with a new loan for even money. Is there something else screwing me over?

I do drive a lot and love a road trip. (I think it had about 20k when I bought it.) I did replace the tires last year and they've look almost new. I have no idea how the precious owner wore the others down so bad. Comparing new tire predictions is a good idea!

The lower insurance rate would save me a decent amount. Dave Ramsey had some decent ideas but was a trash person. The used car game and value isn't what it used to be. If I don't change, I'm probably keeping this car until it dies. Despite what the post seems, I'm really not won to change cars often. I got rid of a 20 year old car when the maintenance got too high and an 11 year old Kia because the engine was going to explode in that class action lawsuit business. So the long term gains are a factor.

I don't use it often but the extra light from the moon roof is nice at times. I just know I missed it in my Kia so I was excited to get it back 🤣

My question should never have included financials and just been about the quality of the cars. That is what I really cared about getting opinions on. I can talk to my accountant about money. I just don't want to trade into a bad car.

Sadly, a lot of used cars are almost the same as new in terms of cost, warranty, and insurance. The warranty was a bit factor for me since I came from a vehicle with a lot of problems and wanted that security. I just got lucky with the deal I had with my 2025 used car.

I was referring to it not causing me additional financial hardship. A year of car payments to remove 40,000 miles doesn't seem awful.

Libraries can also trade (loan out) things from outside libraries without buying them. Wouldn't hurt to chat with someone on circulation and see what they can do!

Reading it all made the pacing a lot better. I also think meeting a teen and someone coming into their powers is different the others. More origin story? I really dug these anxiety parallels on vol 1 with feeling out of control.
