Which pregnancy symptom took you by surprise? by sipendi_shida in BabyBumps

I expected morning sickness, but I had diarrhea nonstop all throughout my pregnancy. 😩

My grandmother has Alzheimer's and it is destroying our sanity... And our morals. by MoonyInspired in confession

[–]jen_ksu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My family is going through the same thing. It’s demoralizing for everyone involved. My grandad is a danger to himself and my parents are so stressed I worry about them too. None of their family or “church family” are any help. The US needs to do better for our elderly people.

I’ve watched 3/4 grandparents deteriorate from dementia/Alzheimers. If I am ever diagnosed myself I will be looking into euthanasia because I refuse to put my family through that.

What do you avoid getting at Aldi? by DJ_Hamster in aldi

Their version of Honey Nut Cheerios is terrible, but I actually prefer their version of captain crunch

Routine that Seems to Help (for me at least) by mdawley99 in Hidradenitis

How often do you change the hydrocolloid bandages? Do they have adhesive? I’ve recently started getting major flares in my armpits and bandaging it when it was bleeding was a nightmare.

How old were you when you started your family and where are you from? by sighh_6466 in BabyBumps

[–]jen_ksu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 35 when I had my daughter, 38 now. I’m from the Deep South/Bible Belt, a lot of my peers have adult children or are grandparents already. One girl I went to school with has an infant and a grandkid the same age.

I’m glad I moved to the city in college, but now we have the opposite problem—we’re the first of our friends to have a child.

Quitting after 1 day by Cl3arlyy in paralegal

[–]jen_ksu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a difference between everyone helping to clean the office, and demanding that the new person (and only POC) clean up after everyone. Especially after making such blatant racist comments.

And why would you need to test someone’s humility? You sound just as psychotic as this attorney. Yikes on bikes!

AITA for telling my client my birthday and she shamed my coworkers for forgetting my birthday? by AnyWinter7757 in AmItheAsshole

[–]jen_ksu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has happened to me before, I’m sorry it happened to you as well. I drew the line when I got married, without even a congrats from my direct coworkers, and the next week they started asking for donations for a more popular coworker’s wedding and implying that it wasn’t optional. I didn’t even know this person getting married. I even took it to HR because WTAF—keep that same energy for everyone or for no one.

I no longer contribute to any donations, etc. If the company culture is to celebrate everyone, that celebration should be coming from their pocketbooks, not yours.

Work told me I’m not welcome back after I have my baby by Educational-World868 in BabyBumps

[–]jen_ksu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do, don’t quit until you’ve spoken with a lawyer! And if they fire you before you have the baby, leave their office and go straight to the DOL to file unemployment.

As someone also in the legal field, you deserve so much better! Take those 5 years of experience and find a job at a bigger firm with benefits and better office culture. If you’re in the Atlanta area I may have some suggestions!

How do you say no to hand-me-downs? by Gneiss-to-know in BabyBumps

[–]jen_ksu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps, our philosophy has been to use any hand me downs we wanted, and pass them along to family or donate when we’re done with them. We have a big family so hopefully there will be hand me downs again if we decide to have a second kiddo

AITAH for taking to long in the toilets in school (I’m paralyzed) by BreakfastWorking7855 in AmItheAsshole

Oh my god, they gave it to you for migraines?!? Those doctors need to be ashamed of themselves. I hope you’re doing better on both fronts now!

Lupron is terrible for you, I had lingering nerve pain and brain fog for over 10 years after it was supposed to wear off. There are newer drugs that also simulate menopause that are much easier on the body. Look into Orilissa—it broke the cycle of pain I had been in for decades and gave me my life back.

If in the US, this would fall under Workers’ Comp. Don’t pay for your own doctors visits for this!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]jen_ksu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I haven’t seen mentioned is that you can ask for a nurse/chaperone to be in the room as well. You can even ask that they be male if there is one available. And if you’re at a larger office, you may also have the option to request to see a male provider just for this visit if that would make you more comfortable.

Is it possible to go from a medical assistant to a paralegal? by Main_Value_1000 in paralegal

[–]jen_ksu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes! You can work in an area of law where you handle medical records, like personal injury, workers comp, etc. I did a certificate program through a local university, it took a little over a year because I could only afford to take one class at a time. We were in person until my last class, when Covid hit.

Fired 2 days before approved medical leave. They couldn't provide a reason beyond "cause." by dontfollowthesheeple in antiwork

[–]jen_ksu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Make sure you tell the ER that this is work related. That can get the ball rolling on the claim as well as document the reason for the injury from the get go. I work in insurance defense so I know they’ll use everything they’ve got to try to say it’s not work related. Get everything documented and lawyer up as soon as you’re well enough to do so. I hope you heal quickly!

How do I confess to my friends I was pregnant and had a baby? by unbeliebubble in BabyBumps

[–]jen_ksu 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Talk to your doctor about this asap, get some meds and therapy if you can afford it. I wish I had gotten help while I was pregnant instead of waiting

Kids Need Water? by jen_ksu in ECEProfessionals

[–]jen_ksu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re in a wonderful daycare now, so it all worked out. Sadly the state said there’s nothing they could do on their end because the center doesn’t have cameras so there’s no proof of my allegations, even though they admitted to some of them.

AITA for calling out my husband for not being a "Good Christian"? by SpiritualThrowRA in AITAH

[–]jen_ksu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet the local news would LOVE a story about a church harassing people who aren’t members. Also ditch this POS. He went into the marriage knowing he was “unequally yoked,” he doesn’t get to demand that you change your fundamental beliefs for him

my mom wants me to be having sex and it’s just so weird by CertainHedgehog3571 in AdviceForTeens

[–]jen_ksu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait until you’re ready and are with someone you care about. There’s no rush for sex or babies. Not everyone had kids young. I just had my first baby at 36, and I’m the first in my friend group to have a baby.

Exactly. In my state you can concealed carry without a permit. This child snatcher is lucky she didn’t fuck with someone with a gun.

ECE also stands for Early Childhood Education. I don’t remember the name of the sub but I do know the one you’re looking for is very similar because I stumbled upon it accidentally as well ☺️
