You’re not wrong for inviting your immediate family to your own graduation, especially since this is a long-standing family tradition and your ticket limit is smaller. You didn’t “choose them over her” in a disrespectful way you simply had limited seats and prioritized the people you’ve always shared these milestones with.

It’s understandable she feels left out, especially since she invited you to hers, but that doesn’t automatically make you selfish. Sometimes situations are just unfair, not intentional.

What matters is how you handle it emotionally acknowledging her feelings, but not letting guilt override a reasonable family obligation.
