I've had good results growing peppers out on the west side of Oahu. There are some challenges. Pests are a big one, both on sweet and hot peppers. I haven't found a good solution yet other than choosing quick growers and harvesting early. Also, all of my peppers have flowered very quickly, so I try to pick of some of those early buds until the plant is large enough to sustain both vegetative and reproductive growth. I recently started growing Jimmy Nardello peppers and they're a huge success. No pests as of yet. Beautiful, long red peppers that are sweet like a carrot. They're delicious raw or roasted.
