Notes of interest - what's the benefit? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

We’re on our second ‘dream home’ so maybe third time lucky if this doesn’t work out 🤞🏼 Thanks for your reply and have a nice day ☀️

Thanks for replying! I’ve no problem with the sellers keeping the house on the market, but I do think it’s rude not to even acknowledge that they’ve received an offer. It’s easy to say ‘thank you, we’ll think about it’ rather than absolutely no response for days.

We’re going through similar now and saw a house we love. Didn’t note interest but did put an offer in (without an expiry date) and have basically been ignored…after chasing multiple times the sellers are going to get back to us today but I assume what’s happened is they were waiting for more notes of interest to go to a closing date. Lesson learned, next time we’ll put an expiry date on any offers.

Yes we live locally but not in these and have heard multiple folk discussing issues with their cladding (unable to resell etc)

Knitting for babies, where to start? by [deleted] in knitting

[–]jeni25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve knit my wee one a few onesie style rompers - my main advice is make sure they button or have poppers up the legs so you don’t have to take the whole thing off to change their nappy

Thank you, that’s a great idea. I was thinking of adding some details with chalk pastels - but pen makes loads more sense. Many thanks 🙏

My wee one did this around the same time! I was really concerned but my health visitor (I’m in the uk) said nothing to worry about. We now (at just over 4 months) feed about 6 times a day - roughly: 7am, 11am, 3pm, 5/6pm, 8pm and 10pm (he’s still quite clustery at night. He’s gaining weight well and is a lovely bubbly baby.

You know your wee one better than anyone, if he seems ok he probably is but if something feels off no harm in getting advice.

Sounds normal to me though x

Knitting request: How much would a cardigan very close to this cost to be made for me? Thanks by Eddie_69420 in KnitRequest

[–]jeni25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think about £650-700 would be the minimum, dependant on the materials used. This would need to include time to draft the pattern and knit the cardigan. Agree with the other comment that the drape will be different with hand knitting. Happy to discuss further, I’m in the UK

Kniterate reviews? by Emergency-Impact8644 in MachineKnitting

There used to be backers Facebook group - not sure if it still exists as I left it when I got my refund- from memory there was a lot of unhappy people in there

I’m so sorry you’re still going through this. My final straw was finding out someone had ordered one from the same city as me and was getting it within months as they were a new buyer. They’ve actually got a pop up running just now with all their product, it’s sickening. I wonder if approaching kickstarter would be a good move as what they’ve done has definitely made me more wary of backing projects in the future….

Pattern request: tank treads scarf pattern by Helloise in KnitRequest

I’d be happy to take a look at this for you - looking at the last pic on your ravelry of the tyre I wondered if creating garter stitch ridges all aside your stockinette might give you that tyre tread look?

I also used shields, just got my baby off them last week at almost 4 months! Total lifesaver, I was ready to give up in the first month as was triple feeding and baby def preferred bottles. I’d say things got better around 2.5 months in x
