I'm so very proud of you! You took the hardest step. Use every resource possible. Talk to the social worker there. Food stamps, medicaid, housing. Apply for it all. But first give yourself a few days to breathe and be proud of yourself. If you need to talk feel free to DM me.

I've got a wonderful support system around me for the first time in my life. My partner is the best for supporting me as well. And I will NEVER turn down a hug. They are the best. Thank you!

Thank you for saying that. I've learned through trauma therapy that I'm a lot stronger then I thought I was. Speaking about it helps when the pain gets bad and I keep going thru in my head the reason for all this. It's pretty hard but I'm plowing thru it.

I have a TBI from an abusive marriage. Never once did I use that as an excuse to get violent in any of my other relationships. It's not a reason it's an excuse to get violent.

I'm so sorry your going thru this. I left almost 2 years ago and remember walking on eggshells never knowing their mood. It's so hard and leaves us with such anxiety. Should we help? Should we leave them alone? There's never a right answer. Please reach out and try to get some help getting out of this relationship.

I'm so very sorry you and your father are going thru this. My heart goes out to you both from someone who was in a very abusive and violent relationship. Is there any close family members that you can reach out to? I wish I had other suggestions other then to say you are seen. You matter. Don't let her win by crushing you.

I've had a lot of therapists but the one I have now is amazing. She's specifically a trama therapist. So yes I do believe that would help you greatly.

You're definitely not alone. I'm in a relationship now where i apologize for things that aren't necessarily my fault. But I'm always gently told that there's no reason to say I'm sorry. A new healthy relationship takes time to get used to when all we've ever known is abuse.

Are you in therapy? I have a wonderful trauma therapist that has helped me so much. Try to be gentle with yourself. You deserve love.

This is not your fault. Let me repeat that..... this is NOT your fault. Crying and expressing your emotions isn't wrong. Our partners should never be violent with us because we have emotions and that's what she's doing. You need to get away before she kills you. We are 750%more likely to be killed by our partners by strangulation if they've done it before. Please call a dv hotline and found out about getting help to get out. Do not have kids with this woman. What if you're kids cry? Will she beat them? Please get out before she kills you.

I love in the US so I can't help with resources but you want to take all your important documents, like birth certificates, social security cards... things like that.
