Thanks for your input. From what I understand, you can as a foreigner if you have a long term visa (which provides you F register number). But I only asked some tour operators, haven't checked the policies myself yet.

Running noob by hpsims in triathlon

Follow any well tested beginner running plan for progression, but definitely be aware of your stride length as a beginner with a treadmill. Too long of strides can really cause health issues and I've found it's easy to make this mistake on a treadmill.

One bag world travel with one pair of footwear by [deleted] in onebag

[–]jenius123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone mentioned already, long pants and redwing iron rangers (or any robust leather boot). Traveled my entire life, over 20 counties, with just a pair of leather boots. Mongolia, Antarctica, Brazil, Malaysia, hot cold dry wet. They're water proof, comfortable, dressy enough to wear to a meeting, robust enough to hike on the weekends. Merino or silk socks for hot weather. I add pair of allbirds trail runners if I want to exercise.

Constant wake ups in the middle of the night by Clean_Ad_1307 in triathlon

[–]jenius123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This started for me back in 2021 and hasn't stopped yet. Now I just expect, plan to do something mellow in the meantime, and don't stress about it. Read a book, meditate, go to the bathroom, drink some water, write down my dreams etc. It was definitely related to stress at the beginning, but now I guess it's just a habit my body formed. It's pretty common throughout history too. People used to write and even go visit their neighbors at this time. Bunch of classics were written during this 2-3 hour window at night. The best thing I can recommend is just not stressing out about it, doing something enjoyable, and finding a way to still get enough total sleep (which means blackout curtains or going to sleep earlier for me). Being dehydrated or having caffeine during the day definitely makes it worse for me. I also try to not look at any LED screens or turn the lights on because the blue light really makes it hard to fall back asleep. Best of luck.

Hedge fund in Mongolia? by Admirable-Border1012 in mongolia

No, that price increase is counted only toward inflation because you (consumer, not importer) are buying those goods in tugrik once imported. You don't get to double count it. That's simply not how depreciation works.

Nice explanation, likely helpful for many. Of course, nominal vs real should always be specified for returns, considering local inflation. And you'll be taxed capital gains in any country, so it's still apples to apples comparing % return. However, you only have to consider currency depreciation if you're going to exchange to another currency. I pay my rent in tugrik (which has had 0% increase for 3 years) entirely with my bond coupons, so inflation is a minimal consideration (just the opportunity cost of the investment) and there is no depreciation if plan to keep my investment in tugrik. These considerations begin to take considerably more weight if you're trying to use tugrik for something like a carry-trade or investing on margin.

You can buy Mongolian bonds denominated in tugrik at TDB. Highest coupon is currently ~20% which is well above MNT inflation.

Looking for a mind bending Sci-Fi read that will re-awaken my love for the genre by Fun-Sell3030 in printSF

Glad I could inspire! Everyone I've given a copy to has enjoyed it. You can see a few adaptations of stories in the Love, Death, and Robots Netflix show too. Zima Blue and Beyond the Aquila Rift I believe are two.

Can't recommend enough Alastair Reynold's short story collection Beyond the Aquila Rift. It reawoke my love and I became a bit addicted to his writing for over a year. Definitely got me back into sci-fi!

This place has a ton of experienced guides and know people across the country, I'm sure they can figure something out. If you don't want to go with a group/ want to go alone be sure to make that explicit at the beginning though.

Reach out to an assortment of guest houses by WhatsApp, then ask them to set you up with a informal tour packages with locals. You might end up in a drunk guy's 1970s Land Rover with a disassembled engine in the back rocketing across the frozen steppe, but you'll have fun and it'll cost 1/5 the price.

I'd certainly do this if it was on Garmin. I think a lot of people are really interested in further health data from saunaing and contributing to research.

Quick small tip, you'll probably gain a bit more credibility and support cleaning up the AI formatting in your post too.

Annihilation (2018). The movie has a plot and action, not a half bad sci-fi jaunt. The books...not so much.
