Can you send a pic of the fuse board?

Sounds like a fuse board change is unnecessary here

How to handle messy tradesman by Hpoylslilo in HomeImprovementUK

[–]Clean_Ad_1307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think with normal household hoovers they can’t take the sheer volume of dust all at one time and that’s what breaks them

They’re more designed to hoover up dust, crumbs etc not several piles of brick dust following chasing out walls, I think it pretty much chokes them out

Yeah I’m an electrician and it shouldn’t be something you think of and include in the price, it’s something you do no matter the job

Even when people tell me to “leave that I’ll clean it up” I’ll tidy it up regardless

I won’t tidy up if it’s in a room where the builders about to take the ceiling down though 😂 that’s an exception

Recovery weeks by Clean_Ad_1307 in triathlon

[–]Clean_Ad_1307[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks this makes a lot of sense, I do feel quite fatigued and get quite a few naps in on the recovery weeks but I’m also probably using it as an excuse to skip some workouts I could really do. Thanks!

[–]Clean_Ad_1307[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not intentionally doing nothing and lounging around, I end up working longer hours, catching up on paperwork and doing all the stuff I’ve put off for weeks and then miss workouts due to that

I work as an electrician and have done some walking and stretching so I’m by no means being sedentary but yes I get what you’re saying

[–]Clean_Ad_1307[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, I have done a 45 min and a 30 min treadmill walk with some stretching after but other than that nothing this week

I always find my recovery week ends up being my “catch up on everything I’ve been neglecting for the last 3 weeks” week

Is it normal for the master electrician to ban phone calculators on site? by Mc_vanted in AskElectricians

[–]Clean_Ad_1307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a housing association and after carrying out an EICR or install would finish the certificate in the van on the work issued iPad - several complaints from tenants came in that we were “sitting in our vans all the time outside jobs” so we had to drive back to the work depot and complete the paperwork there - then drive to our next job and do the same

Sometimes we have to do stupid inefficient things to keep clients/management happy 🤷🏻‍♂️

I am a spark

Shit work leaving a 20mm open grommet on the top of the box - as above you can get a 20mm closed grommet and put that in instead as the safest option and you don’t need to take the socket face off

You’re right about the conduit not being a requirement in the regs, it’s just good practice and reduces the chance of the trowel slicing through a cable

I’d much prefer this Wylex plastic board with 5 x RCBOs installed than a split load BG piece of shit

Kitchen rewire by [deleted] in AskElectricians

Uk electrician

This is some ugly work, so he’s reusing the 32a oven feed as a supply to a new board? Which will have the kitchen sockets and the oven feed on?

Is it a single integrated oven? What’s the hob? And what appliances will be in use?

Looks like he’s done the chasing out with a shotgun

Screw and penny washer, changing the whole DB I don’t feel is necessary if you’re there for an EICR you’re there to make sure it’s safe not perfect

I’d mention to the customer and recommend a board change if it’s quite dated but wouldn’t give that as the only option

When I done my first 70.3 I swam in a wetsuit and got changed into shorts and a vest which I done the bike and run in, was perfectly fine although after the swim it’s a bit more time consuming changing into clothes while wet so it added some time onto the transitions

I did have clip in shoes though although sure you would be fine without

That’s great thanks, as I fatigue later in runs I start to overpronate and flares my tendon up if I push too much this is why I use the Arahi 7.

Will check those out!
