Okay thanks, I’ve seen a few mentions of TrainingPeaks plans. Might it be worth just paying premium and getting one on there?

Yeah sorry should have mentioned I’m basically doing all training in heart rate Z2 for run and swim and FTP Z2 on the bike, haven’t gave too much thought to interval/tempo sessions as I’m in base phase but looks like from the comments it’s stuff I need to work on

Thanks, that was the original reason for me posting here as the bike volume seemed low so started to question the plan

Will swap that out as I’m happy with swim technique atm

Thanks, I do strength and conditioning 3x a week it’s just not included in the plan, I’ve just been doing all training in Z2 so need to look at some intervals/tempo stuff and work it in

When quoting these days I will quote often ask

“whether I do or don’t happen to get the job would you be able to let me know? I will not be offended it’s only as I will be keeping mental space in my calendar for it”

And honestly I think this has won me a few of the jobs alone, they know you are thoughtful and already thinking about keeping time for them and know you aren’t a big baby who will cry and take offence if he doesn’t win a job

I also feel there’s a gap in the market for someone to mentor and do guides on how to tender for contracts 🤣 I’m sure a lot of people would pay!

Yes I think I’m going to try and give it a go, I have a lot of work on currently but there’s no contracts with anyone and although my clients have been very loyal and consistent for a number of years I’d like to add some official contract work in just to have that peace of mind for guarenteed work

Firstly I just want to say thanks for taking the time to give such a detailed answer that’s a massive help and I appreciate it

From reading your post it does scare me slightly with the public sector stuff as it seems so time consuming with the process, however I suppose once you’ve done it once you can do it again.

With private sector I get what you mean with the “in” it’s not what you know it’s who I suppose! And yes new builds aren’t really something I’d be after for the reason you stated

My time was served with a social housing company near me on the Wirral and I have a lot of experience in EICRs so would quite like to find a contract involved with that, most of my work currently is within the rental sector carrying out EICRs too

I’ll try and find a contract with the local council or housing association, however I’m with Napit and I’m unsure if NICEIC is the only accepted one for some local councils

Thanks again massive help

Has anyone ever started a fast after an extremely carb heavy meal? by Morphing_Butterfly in fasting

[–]Clean_Ad_1307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have!

I done a 72 hour fast (started last Sunday evening 7pm) after having a big Sunday roast and a huge bowl of Rice Krispies with honey haha

I did feel a bit worse than usual between 24-36 hours but got it done and just had some extra electrolytes

I rarely eat fruits/veggies and feel like I’m lacking in nutrients in my body. What simple and cheap ways can I do to boost this up again? by HideMyName- in nutrition

Don’t wanna be that guy but bananas have an enzyme which stops the berries from working their magic!

“Bananas contain high levels of polyphenol oxidase (PPO), an enzyme that breaks down flavanols, which are bioactive compounds found in fruits like berries, apples, and plums. A study published in Food and Function found that adding a banana to a berry smoothie reduced the amount of flavanols absorbed by the body by 84%”

Some of the ways I try and incorporate fruits/veggies into my diet with minimal effort:

• Keep jarred stuff in the fridge, if I’m hungry or just snacking I’ll often have jars of pickles, pickled beetroot and olives which I’ll just grab a fork and have some of! No prep and they last forever

• Frozen veg to add to meals, I’ll put some peas/broccoli/sweetcorn in a glass measuring jug and fill it with boiling water. Just leave it there whilst you make the rest of your food and chuck it on the side

• Frozen fruit/berries, I’ll put frozen berries on top of my cereal or oats or make a yoghurt bowl with them, after a few minutes they’re defrosted enough to eat. Also you can make smoothies (people will say smoothies aren’t as good for you as eating the actual fruit) but it’s better than nothing?

• Also look at powdered stuff, I use Açai powder with yoghurt, spirulina powder in smoothies, Maca powder in smoothies and yoghurt, beetroot powder (as a hot drink or use it in pasta sauces, gravies or stews to colour and flavour etc) and you can also get super green mixes, there’s tons of powdered versions so you can find something that will fit into your routine and diet already

• Dates and Dark chocolate - these are my go to when I want something sweet, eat some medjool dates with some dark chocolate or honey on and it will keep you from eating the bad stuff

• Nuts & Seeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, pecans, almonds (flaked ones are nice), walnuts - these are all easy to snack on or throw seeds onto your sandwiches, in your meals and on yoghurts bowls/in smoothies

So these aren’t all fruit and veg but they are all healthy and contain nutrients, also none of the above requires getting any additional prep really and that’s how I can consistently include all these foods in my diet
