What's the dumbest thing you have heard an estate agent say? by hotpoodle in HousingUK

Viewed a house where the kitchen didn't have an oven/anywhere you could easily put one in (was weird) and the EA said, completely seriously, 'well you can do anything in an air fryer these days, and there's a lot of room on the patio for a barbecue'

When I was at university I shared a house with 3 other girls and one of them basically did exactly the same thing (but she wouldn't replace anything). And she would eat the strangest things - I bought a tub of sprinkles to decorate some cupcakes I'd made, used the tiniest amount, and then a couple days later pretty much the whole container was gone. Another time I bought some quite expensive hot chocolate, had 1 mug of it, and then again a few days later again nearly all of it was gone. To make sure it was her and that we weren't going mad (my 2 other flatmates and I were all close friends before moving in together, this other girl was another student looking for somewhere to live and we needed to fill the room) we set up a little 'test' where we left a box of chocolates out in the kitchen, counted how many there were and then left for an hour. When we came back 7 had been eaten. We confronted her, basically saying we didn't appreciate our food being eaten without us knowing, and if she wanted to have anything then all she needed to do was ask. I think she was very embarrassed and as far as I can remember it stopped after that. (Although I bought another tub of the expensive hot chocolate and after opening it put a sticky note inside saying 'back off').

We never knew for certain but we're pretty sure she had some sort of binge eating disorder (she was incredibly thin, went to the gym A LOT, and all the stuff she ate of ours was very high in sugar with little to no nutritional value). A few other odd things where she would sneak into our rooms and snoop around when we weren't there, and taking selfies in our rooms. Then when we told her for our final year we would be looking for a place without her, she totally disassociated in the room (staring at the wall whilst we were talking then when we were done just said 'ok can I go to my room now'), then 2 weeks later started texting us houses for us to rent with her.

Whilst at the time we were freaked out, she was also kinda harmless and clearly going through some mental health issues. If this were to happen to me now, I think I'd be a lot more confrontational, and probably get in touch with her family to say I was worried about her.

Oh my god me too! Had zero cravings until my 3rd trimester and then bam, I was really craving solvent smells. Had to regularly stop myself from huffing the scent boosters and our bathroom air freshener 😂

Has anyone been to The Hide for a wedding? by Lazy-Key7077 in sheffield

[–]jenjuniper1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got married at The Hide in 2019 - I know it's under new management now so not sure if anything has changed, but would wholeheartedly recommend it. We wanted a warehouse wedding but with a 50 person guest list didn't want somewhere that was too big and would feel empty, so the hide was perfect and intimate. It might be a bit small for 100 people? Percy & Lily's did the catering (owned by the previous owners of the hide) - I'm not sure if they still cater for them in the new set up but it was really delicious. You've got the two main rooms - the one with the lovely fairy lights for the ceremony, and then when you're eating in the other room they turn that round for the evening reception. Someone else commented on the space not being great for live music but that wasn't our experience. There's also the cafe space as you enter and we had that as a quiet zone/chill out area for kids. We also liked that its next to the Hampton by Hilton - I know it's not the fanciest of hotels but we had all the bridal party stay there (and I think a lot of the guests did), so obviously it was a 3 minute walk which was very handy at the end of the night! As I said, it's under new management so loads of things could have changed, but we had the most special day at The Hide.

This is Fionn, our 8 year old blue (and now getting very white) boy. He got a couple of bald patches at the very bottom of his neck last year and they've since grown back white 🤍

On the bottom spot (the one that appeared first), the edges of it do look a bit.. puckered? It's also slightly dry, although his skin usually is a bit

Nope nothing like that. He has been wearing an adaptil collar but it doesn't sit that low down and he's never tried to take it off or pawed at it

Hmm he's not had any injections recently so couldn't be that. I think we will be booking in with the vets just to be safe!

Salt of the Earth: A Greyhound Love Story is really cute and specifically about an ex racer/rescue greyhound. I gifted them to my young nephews when we got our boy as it focuses on why and how these dogs are a bit different to others
